The Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine 2023

The Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine is awarded by the Nobel Assembly at Karolinska Institutet, Stockholm, Sweden. The Nobel Assembly announced the 2023 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine on 02 October 2023.

The Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine 2023 was awarded jointly (with equal share) to:

(1) Katalin Karikó

Szeged University, Szeged, Hungary; University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, PA, USA

(2) Drew Weissman

Penn Institute for RNA Innovations, University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, PA, USA

Both received the prize “for their discoveries concerning nucleoside base modifications that enabled the development of effective mRNA vaccines against COVID-19.”

The Nobel Prize in Physics 2023

The Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences announced the Nobel Prize in Physics 2023 on 03 October 2023.

The prize was shared equally (1/3 each) by three persons:

(1) Pierre Agostini

The Ohio State University, Columbus, USA

(2) Ferenc Krausz

Max Planck Institute of Quantum Optics, Garching and Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München, Germany

(3) Anne L’Huillier

Lund University, Sweden

The Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences has awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics 2023 “for experimental methods that generate attosecond pulses of light for the study of electron dynamics in matter”.

The Nobel Prize in Chemistry 2023

The Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences announced the Nobel Prize in Chemistry 2023 on 04 October 2023.

The prize was shared equally (1/3 each) by three persons:

Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Cambridge, MA, USA

(2) Louis E. Brus

Columbia University, New York, NY, USA

(3) Alexei I. Ekimov

The Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences has awarded the Nobel Prize in Chemistry 2023 “for the discovery and synthesis of quantum dots”.

The Nobel Prize in Literature 2023

The Nobel Prize in Literature is awarded by the Swedish Academy, Stockholm, Sweden. The Swedish Academy has announced the 2023 Nobel Prize in Literature on 5 October 2023.

(1) Jon Olav Fosse (Prize share: 1/1)

The Nobel Prize in Literature for 2023 is awarded to the Norwegian author Jon Olav Fosse. Jon Fosse received the prize “for his innovative plays and prose which give voice to the unsayable.”

The Sveriges Riksbank Prize in Economic Sciences in Memory of Alfred Nobel 2023

The Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences announced the Sveriges Riksbank Prize in Economic Sciences in Memory of Alfred Nobel 2023 on 09 October 2023.

(1) Claudia Goldin (Prize share: 1/1)

Harvard University, Cambridge, MA, USA

The Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences awarded the Sveriges Riksbank Prize in Economic Sciences in Memory of Alfred Nobel 2023 to Claudia Goldin “for having advanced our understanding of women’s labour market outcomes”.
