1st Ever Privately Manufactured Indigenised Fuze of ASW Rocket
⇒ On 03 March 2023, the Indian Navy received a fully indigenised fuze YDB-60 for underwater Rocket RGB 60 manufactured for the first time by a private Indian industry.

In order to provide major boost to AatmaNirbharta in Armament and Ammunition-
» Indian Navy received for the first time a fully indigenised fuze YDB-60 for underwater Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW) Rocket RGB-60 used from major warships, through a private manufacturer M/s Economic Explosives Limited (EEL), Nagpur.
- This would be the first time the Indian Navy has placed supply order for underwater ammunition fuze on an Indian Private industry.
- All technical assistance to the manufacturer towards creating a vibrant ecosystem for manufacture of ammunition and fuze in India in pursuit of AatmaNirbharta’ has been provided by the Directorate General of Naval Armament (DGONA) and Directorate General of Naval Armament Inspection (DGNAI), Indian Navy.
Shri Satyanarayan Nuwal, the CMD of M/s EEL, Nagpur handed over the first consignment of the fuze to Vice Admiral SN Ghormade, Vice Chief of Naval Staff (VCNS).
8th edition of National Conference on Economics of Competition Law
⇒ The Competition Commission of India (CCI) organised the 8th National Conference on Economics of Competition Law on 03 March 2023.
Dr. V Anantha Nageswaran, Chief Economic Advisor, Ministry of Finance, Government of India, delivered the Keynote Address in the Inaugural Session. He highlighted the importance of competition in ensuring efficient markets and overall national prosperity.
The Conference had one plenary session and two technical sessions.
» The Conference, in addition to the Inaugural Session, featured two technical sessions on ‘Competition and the Economy’; and ‘Economics in Antitrust Enforcement’ where researchers presented papers on economics of competition law.
- The first session chaired by Dr M.S. Sahoo, Distinguished Professor, National Law University Delhi had papers dealing on competition in different industries and the Indian economy.
- Papers in the second session chaired by Dr Aditya Bhattacharjea, Former Senior Professor, Delhi School of Economics, focused on economics in antitrust enforcement.
» The National Conference concluded with a plenary session on ‘Antitrust and Regulation: Interfaces and Synergies’ which was moderated by Dr Arghya Sengupta, Founder and Research Director, Vidhi Legal.

⇒ G20 Foreign Ministers’ Meeting took place in New Delhi from March 01-02, 2023.
- 40 delegations from G20 Member & Invitee countries, International Organizations participated in this Meeting.
The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi addressed the meeting of the Foreign Ministers of G20 via video message on March 01, 2023.
- Addressing the gathering, the Prime Minister underlined why India chose the theme of ‘One Earth, One Family, One Future’ for its G20 Presidency.
» Meeting under India’s G20 Presidency, with the theme ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’ – ‘One Earth. One Family. One Future’, the G20 Foreign Ministers deliberated upon current global challenges. In the two-day meeting, sessions were held on the following topics:

7th International Dharma Dhamma conference 2023, in Bhopal
⇒ The 7th International Dharma-Dhamma Conference (DDC) 2023 was held on 03-05 March 2023, in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, India.

The 3-day Conference was organised by the India Foundation in collaboration with the Sanchi University of Buddhist-Indic Studies.
» The President of India, Smt Droupadi Murmu inaugurated the 7th International Dharma Dhamma Conference in Bhopal on March 3, 2023.
- Speaking on the occasion, the President said that the great banyan tree of Indian spirituality has its roots in India and its branches and vines are spread all over the world.
- The President said that the concept of Dharma-Dhamma has been the basic voice of Indian consciousness. In our tradition it is said, “Dharyate anen iti dharmah” – That which supports is dharma. The entire humanity rests on the foundation stone of religion.
Theme:
The theme of the 7th International Dharma Dhamma conference 2023 was ‘Eastern Humanism for the New Era’.
Aim:
The aim of the three-day conference was to bring together religious, political and thought leaders from Dharma-Dhamma traditions to ponder over building a philosophical framework for the emerging new world order.
» The conference included 45 speakers in the inaugural session, a ministers’ session, keynote session and five plenary sessions to discuss various sub-themes, along with 115 paper presentations by experts from India and abroad in 15 sessions. Fifteen countries participated in the conference.

Former Chief Justice of India, Shri AM Ahmadi
⇒ Former Chief Justice of India Shri AM Ahmadi passed away on March 2, 2023. He was 90.
About AM Ahmadi:
- Born on 25 March 1932, Chief Justice Aziz Mushabber Ahmadi enrolled in Bombay as a district attorney in 1954.
- In 1964, Ahmadi was appointed a civil and sessions judge in Ahmedabad and went on to become the state’s law secretary.
- On 25 October 1994, Chief Justice Ahmadi became the 26th Chief Justice of India and served in that position until his retirement on 24 March 1997.
- During his tenure in the Supreme Court, Chief Justice Ahmadi authored 232 judgments and was part of 811 benches.
