ARIIA is an initiative of Ministry of HRD to systematically rank higher education institutions and universities in India on indicators related to Innovation.
The Vice-President of India M Venkaiah Naidu will release results of Atal Ranking of Institutions on Innovation Achievements ARIIA – 2020 on 18 Aug 2020. The Vice-President of India “M Venkaiah Naidu” as Chief Guest & Union Minister of Education, “Shri Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank”, Minister of State for Education, “Shri Sanjay Shamrao Dhotre” also graced the virtual occasion as Guest of Honour.
Vice President said in speech researchers to come up with innovations to solve farmers’ problems & also said there is need to end exploitation of farmers by middlemen. Vice-President wants a higher education system to drive innovation and start-up ecosystem in the country.
ARIIA 2020 have six Prize categories, which also includes special category for women only higher educational institutions to encourage women and bringing gender parity in the areas of innovation and entrepreneurship. For the first time ARIIA 2020 have special prize category for women only higher educational institutions.
The other five categories are:
- Centrally Funded Institutions
- State funded universities
- State funded autonomous institutions
- Private/Deemed Universities and
- Private Institutions.
