ADI PRASHIKSHAN Portal

⇒ Minister of Tribal Affairs, Sh. Arjun Munda launched ADI PRASHIKSHAN portal and inaugurated a three-day training programme on “Capacity Building Training of Master Trainers for ST PRI Members” as part of Azadi ka AmritMahotsav in New Delhi 16 June 2021.

ADI PRASHIKSHAN portal:

ADI PRASHIKSHAN portal has been developed by the Ministry of Tribal Affairs. The portal would act as a Central Repository of all training programs conducted by Tribal Research Institutes, different divisions of Ministry, National Society for Education of Tribal Students, Centre of Excellences funded by Ministry of Tribal Affairs and National Tribal Research Institute.

Three Day Training Programme:

Three day training programme on “Capacity Building Training of Master Trainers For ST PRI Members” was jointly organized by National Tribal Research Institute and Tribal Research & Development Institute, Govt of Madhya Pradesh from 16 June to 19 June, 2021.

Participants:

In the training programme, officers from ITDAs, District Level & Block Level Welfare Officers, NGOs, Tribal Youths, SHG Member and Sarpanches were participated.

Topics:

This training programme covered the topics such as Constitutional Rights of Schedule Tribes, Financial and administrative management of GPs, flagship programmes of Central and State Governments schemes meant to improve education, health, nutrition, social security, livelihood and skilling of youth.

'No One, An Outsider: Varanasi Tales' Book

⇒ A fiction book by author Vivek Nath Mishra, ‘No One, An Outsider: Varanasi Tales’ was released on 27 May 2021. This book is published by Hawakal Publishers.

ADB & Govt of India signed $484 million Loan

⇒ The Asian Development Bank and the Government of India signed a $484 million loan to improve transport connectivity and facilitate industrial development in the Chennai–Kanyakumari Industrial Corridor (CKIC) in the state of Tamil Nadu, on 16 June 2021.

CKIC is part of India’s East Coast Economic Corridor (ECEC), which stretches from West Bengal to Tamil Nadu and connects India to the production networks of South, Southeast, and East Asia.

The project will upgrade about 590 km of state highways in the CKIC influence areas that cover 23 of the 32 districts between Chennai and Kanyakumari in Tamil Nadu.

Asian Development Bank (ADB) is the lead partner of the Government of India in developing East Coast Economic Corridor.

Presidential Election of Iran 2021

⇒ Presidential election of Iran was held on 18 June 2021. This was the thirteenth Presidential election since the establishment of the Islamic Republic in 1979. Ebrahim Raisi, the then Chief Justice of Iran, has been declared the winner of Presidential election.

The swearing-in ceremony of Iran’s elected President Ebrahim Raisi will take place on August 5, 2021. Iran’s new President-elect has invited India for his swearing-in ceremony.

Auction of World Wide Web''s source code

⇒ The original source code used to create the World Wide Web was sold at Sotheby’s in an online auction on 30 June 2021, for $5.4 million as an NFT.

NFTs, short for non-fungible tokens, serve as digital certificates verifying ownership of a digital item.

The code was sold by Tim Ber­ners-Lee, a computer scientist credited with writing the source code that forms the ba­s­is of the World Wide Web. The code was written in 1990 and 1991.

⇒ The 2021 French Grand Prix, which took place over the 53 laps of the 5.842-kilometre Circuit Paul Ricard on 20 June 2021 in Le Castellet.

Winner:

Max Verstappen, Red Bull Racing Honda driver wins the 2021 French Grand Prix. Britain’s Mercedes driver, Lewis Hamilton finished second.

Important Day

World Elder Abuse Awareness Day 2021

⇒ World Elder Abuse Awareness Day (WEAAD) is observed globally on 15 June every year.

Theme:

The theme for the World Elder Abuse Awareness Day 2021 is “Access to Justice”. This year’s theme serves as a reminder of the importance to fully address the needs of older persons who may seek recourse.

Significance:

Mistreatment of the elderly is one of the world’s least addressed issues. This is the day when the whole world voices its opposition to the abuse and suffering inflicted to some of our older generations.

History:

The day was officially recognized by the United Nations General Assembly in its resolution 66/127, in December 2011, following a request by the International Network for the Prevention of Elder Abuse (INPEA), who first established the commemoration in June 2006.
