Book 'Palleku Pattabhishekam'

⇒ The Vice President Shri M Venkaiah Naidu released the book ‘Palleku Pattabhishekam’ on rural India and agriculture, written by former MP Shri Yalamanchili Sivaji at Dr Marri Channa Reddy Human Resource Development Institute in Hyderabad on 11 July 2021.

Baroda Startup Banking Program

⇒ Recently, Bank of Baroda signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Software Technology Parks of India (STPI) and AIC STPINEXT Initiatives to support startups across India under its Baroda Startup Banking program.

Key offerings under Baroda Startup Banking are as follows:
    • Dedicated and trained bank officials viz Startup Champs and Relationship Managers who will be a single touch point
    • Bouquet of tailored made banking products designed exclusively for startups
    • Array of services provided at preferential rates by marquee service providers in the field of cloud computation, co-working spaces, taxation, accounting, legal, etc

3rd G20 Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors Meeting

⇒ The Union Minister for Finance & Corporate Affairs, Smt Nirmala Sitharaman participated virtually in the Third G20 Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors (FMCBG) Meeting under the Italian Presidency. The two-day meeting was held on July 9th and 10th, 2021.

During the meeting, a wide range of issues including global economic risks and health challenges, policies for recovery from the CoVID-19 pandemic, international taxation, sustainable finance and financial sector issues were discussed.

National Fish Farmers Day

⇒ The National Fish Farmers day is observed every year on 10 July to demonstrate solidarity with all fisher folk, fish farmers and concerned stakeholders throughout the Country.

The day is celebrated to commemorate Professor Dr Hiralal Chaudhury and his colleague Dr Alikunhi for their contribution in achieving the successful induced breeding of major carps on 10th July,1957 at Angul in Odisha for the first time in the country.

The day is also celebrated as Foundation Day of National Fisheries Development Board.

Death

Doyen of Ayurveda, Dr P K Warrier

⇒ Doyen of Ayurveda and managing trustee of Kottakkal Arya Vaidya Sala (KAS) Dr P K Warrier passed away on 10 July 2021. He was 100.

P K Warrier was awarded the Padmasree in 1999 and Padma Bhushan in 2010.
