Rajbhasha Keerthi Puraskar for National Mineral Development Ltd

⇒ The highest and most prestigious award in the field of Rajbhasha i.e. “Rajbhasha Keerthi Puraskar” was presented to National Mineral Development Ltd. (NMDC), under Ministry of Steel during the Rajbhasha Diwas Samaroh in New Delhi.

NMDC secured the third prize in the category of Undertakings situated in “C” region for the year 2019-20.

The award was presented by Ministers of State fo Home, Shri Nishith Pramanik and Shri Ajay Kumar Mishra.

During the function Dr. Sailesh Shukla, Assistant Manager (Rajbhasha), NMDC Donimalai Iron Ore Project was also felicitated with the “Rajbhasha Gourav Puraskar” for his published article.

RINL bagged ‘Rajbhasha Keerthi Puraskar’

⇒ Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Ltd. (RINL) – Vishakhapatnam Steel plant (VSP), under Ministry of Steel is bestowed with ‘Rajbhasha Keerti Puraskar’-FIRST PRIZE for effective implementation of Official Language Hindi for the year 2020-21.

TOLIC (Town Official Language Implementation Committee)- Undertaking, Visakhapatnam under the aegis of RINL also bagged ‘Rajbhasha Keerthi Puraskar’–First Prize for the year 2020-21.

RINL-VSP has also received ‘Rajbhasha Keerthi Puraskar – First Prize’ for effective implementation of Hindi for the year 2019-20.

‘Sugandh’, the In-house Magazine of RINL-VSP bagged ‘Rajbhasha Keerthi Puraskar – First Prize’ for the year 2018-19.

High-quality transparent ceramics developed for the first time in India

⇒ Indian researchers have developed transparent ceramics, reaching theoretical transparency through a technique called colloidal processing followed by simultaneous application of temperature and pressure, for the first time in India. Transparent ceramics is a new class of advanced materials with unique transparency and excellent mechanical properties.

Use:

The material can be used for thermal imaging applications, especially in harsh service conditions and personal protection systems such as, helmets, face shields, and goggles.

QCI launched Prof. S K Joshi Laboratory Excellence Award

⇒ Quality Council of India (QCI) launched the Prof. SK Joshi Laboratory Excellence Award virtually amidst eminent dignitaries from Government & Industry.

Objective:

This Award has been instituted to promote Laboratory Quality and performance improvement in the country.

The award has been incepted to ensure the laboratory’s commitment to achieve excellence in providing high precision testing and calibration services in line with the prevalent national/international quality systems legislations, including Health, Safety & Environment.

About Award:

There are three Trophies (Gold, Silver, Bronze) in each category of Laboratory (Testing, Medical and Calibration) accompanied with cash award.

The 5 stages of assessment by Technical Expert Committee (TEC) are Application Document Evaluation, Physical/Virtual Presentation, Site Assessment/Verification, Reference check and Jury evaluation.

This award will be open to all currently operational Laboratories pertaining to Testing, Calibration & Medical including their Proficiency Testing Providers & Reference Material Producers located in India.

About Prof. SK Joshi:

Late Prof. S.K. Joshi was a luminary in the field of Science and Academica. Prof. Joshi was felicitated with Padma Bhushan, Padma Shri, CV Raman Medal of INSA and several other prestigious awards.

17th Indo-US Economic summit

⇒ The Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Shri Nitin Gadkari inaugurated the 17th Indo-US Economic summit “Bouncing Back – Resilient Recovery Path Post Covid-19” on 14 September 2021.

This summit was organised by the Indo-American Chamber of Commerce (IACC).

Highlights:

Addressing the Summit, Union Minister Shri Nitin Gadkari said:

» There should be informed discussion on this subject at various levels since the recovery needs new ideas and approaches. He said a new thought process is needed and a creative agenda to view new pathways of recovery.
