National:
  • Union Minister for Minority Affairs Shri Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi inaugurated the Hunar Haat at Delhi Haat at Pitampura. “Hunar Haat” is being organized from 11th to 22nd November, 2020.

The theme of Hunar Haat is “Vocal for Local” where indigenous exquisite products made from “Maati (clay), Metal and Machiya (wooden & jute products)” is the major attraction. Here rare exquisite products are available for display and sale.

In the coming days, “Hunar Haat” will be organized at Jaipur, Chandigarh, Indore, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Lucknow, India Gate, New Delhi, Ranchi, Kota and Surat/Ahmedabad.

Oath Ceremony in Bihar:
  • Bihar Governor Phagu Chauhan administered the oath of office to the CM and cabinet ministers of Bihar on November 16, 2020 at the Raj Bhavan in Patna.

JDU chief Nitish Kumar has taken oath as Chief Minister of Bihar for the 7th times along with BJP’s Tarkishore Prasad and Renu Devi as his deputy CM. This is the fourth straight term.

Mangal Pandey (BJP), Amarendra Pratap Singh (BJP), Mukesh Sahni (VIP), Santosh Kumar Suman (MLC, HAM), Ashok Choudhary (JDU), Vijay Kumar Choudhary (JDU), Vijendra Prasad Yadav (JDU), Mewa Lal Choudhary (JDU), Sheela Kumari (JDU), Jivesh Misra (BJP), Ram Surat Rai (BJP), Rampreet Paswan (BJP) also takes oath as cabinet ministers.

Award:
  • Indian Olympic Association (IOA) president Narinder Batra was on November 15, 2020 conferred with the Capital Foundation National Award. He got the award for his contribution in sports, at the Capital Foundation Annual Lecture and Awards 2020. The award function was held online on the 106th birth anniversary of Justice Krishna Iyer.
    Mr. Batra is also the president of International Hockey Federation and a member of the International Olympic Committee.
International:
  • The 20th Summit of Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Council of Heads of State was held on November 10, 2020 via video conference. The meeting was chaired by the President of the Russian Federation, Mr. Vladimir Putin. Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi led the Indian delegation.
    The PM said, India will have full cooperation on the 20th anniversary of the SCO to be held in 2021, with the themeSCO Year of Culture‘. The Republic of Tajikistan will assume the chairmanship of SCO next year.

  • Mercedes’ driver Lewis Hamilton won 2020 Turkish Grand Prix. He secured a record-equalling seventh Formula One world title championship. 2020 Turkish Grand Prix was takes place over 58 laps of the 5.338-kilometre Intercity Istanbul Park circuit on November 15, 2020.
Death:
  • Former Lieutenant Governor of Puducherry Chandrawati died due to prolonged illness, on November 15, 2020. She was 92 years old.
    She was the state’s first woman to become a Member of Parliament, the first woman minister in Haryana and the first woman Leader of Opposition.
  • American former sports car racer Jim Pace has died from COVID-19 in Memphis on November 13, 2020. He was 59.
