PM lays foundation stone and dedicates to nation projects worth more than Rs 5200 crores in Bodeli

⇒ The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone and dedicated to the nation, projects worth more than Rs 5200 crores in Bodeli, Chhotaudepur, Gujarat on 27 September 2023.

Multiple projects under the programme ‘Mission Schools of Excellence’:

» School infrastructure across Gujarat got a massive boost as the Prime Minister dedicated to the nation and laid the foundation stone of multiple projects worth more than Rs 4500 crore under the programme ‘Mission Schools of Excellence’.

    • Thousands of new classrooms, smart classrooms, computer labs, STEM (Science, Technology Engineering, and Mathematics) labs and other infrastructure built across schools in Gujarat will be dedicated to the nation by the Prime Minister.
    • He also laid the foundation stone for improving and upgrading thousands of classrooms across Gujarat schools under the mission.
Vidya Samiksha Kendra 2.0:

» The Prime Minister also laid the foundation stone of the project ‘Vidya Samiksha Kendra 2.0’.

    • This project will be built upon the success of ‘Vidya Samiksha Kendra’ which has ensured continuous monitoring of schools and improvement in student learning outcomes in Gujarat.
    • ‘Vidya Samiksha Kendra 2.0’ will lead to the establishment of Vidya Samiksha Kendras in all districts and blocks of Gujarat.
Other development projects:

» During the programme, the Prime Minister dedicated to the nation multiple development projects including a new bridge built across the Narmada River on ‘Vadodara Dabhoi-Sinor-Malsar-Asa Road’ in Taluka Sinor, Vadodara district; Chab Talav re-development project, water supply project in Dahod, about 400 newly built houses for the economic weaker section at Vadodara, Village Wi-Fi project across 7500 villages across Gujarat; and the newly built Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya at Dahod.

» The Prime Minister laid the foundation stone of the water supply project in Chhotaudepur; a flyover bridge in Godhra, Panchmahal; and the FM Radio studio at Dahod to be built under the ‘Broadcasting Infrastructure and Network Development (BIND)’ scheme of the Central Government.

A mega national event named SHAKTI-2023

⇒ A mega national event named SHAKTI-2023 (Sthree in HVACR & Architecture and Key in Transforming the Industry) was organized on 26th September 2023 at IGCAR, Kalpakkam.

Organized by:

SHAKTI-2023 was organized by Indian Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air conditioning Engineers (ISHRAE), Kalpakkam Chapter and Indian Women Scientists’s Association (IWSA), Kalpakkam Branch in association with Indira Gandhi Centre for Atomic Research (IGCAR), Kalpakkam.

Theme:

The theme of SHAKTI 2023 was “Women in Technological Advances and Social Upliftment”.

» SHAKTI-2023 was a great event with participation of 300 delegates.

International

India Ageing Report 2023

⇒ UNFPA (United Nations Population Fund) India, in collaboration with the International Institute for Population Sciences (IIPS), unveiled the highly anticipated “India Ageing Report 2023.”

    • This report sheds light on the challenges, opportunities and institutional responses surrounding elderly care in India, as India navigates a demographic shift towards an ageing population.

The report was jointly released by Mr Saurabh Garg, Secretary, Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment (GoI) and Ms. Andrea M Wojnar, UNFPA India Representative and Country Director Bhutan in September 2023.

Highlights of India Ageing Report 2023:

» The India Ageing Report 2023 represents a thorough review of the living conditions and welfare of older individuals in India.

» It takes advantage of the latest data available from a variety of sources to provide the latest perspective.

These sources are-

Longitudinal Ageing Survey in India (LASI), 2017–18, Census of India, Population Projections by the Government of India (2011–2036) and World Population Prospects 2022 by the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs

The report’s key findings encompass a range of analyses related to elderly well-being, including:
    • The enhancement of geriatric care to cater to the unique healthcare needs of seniors.
    • A multitude of government schemes and policies addressing the health, financial empowerment, and capacity building needs of the elderly population.
    • Community-based organizations actively engaged in digital empowerment through computer and internet usage sessions.
    • Ministerial committees dedicated to shaping policies for elderly welfare.
    • Corporate efforts for joyful aging, social assistance, old age homes, and elder abuse awareness campaigns.

YouTube Fanfest India 2023

⇒ The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi addressed the YouTuber community during YouTube Fanfest India 2023 on 27 September 2023.

    • He also completed his 15 years on YouTube and shared his experience of creating a global impact through the medium.
About Fanfest 2023:

YouTube Fanfest India 2023 was held at NESCO, Mumbai on 27 September 2023. Fanfest 2023 was organized to mark the 15th anniversary of YouTube India.
