National:
- Member of Rajya Sabha Shri Arun Singh and MP from New Delhi, Smt Meenakashi Lekhi launch KVIC’s Innovative Project “DigniTEA” in New Delhi on Sewa Diwas i.e 17th September 2020, which marks the 70th birthday of the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. Under this project KVIC distributed 6 innovative cycle-mounted Tea/Coffee Selling units. KVIC also distributed 17 such units in different cities like Varanasi, Jaipur and Chandigarh.
- After the resignation of Smt Harsimrat Kaur Badal from the Union Council of Ministers, Shri Narendra Singh Tomar, Cabinet Minister, has been assigned the charge of the Ministry of Food Processing Industries, in addition to his existing portfolios, as advised by the Prime Minister.
World Bamboo Day celebrated globally on 18 September every year. On this occasion, “Cane and Bamboo Technology Centre” under the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region and the “Confederation of Indian Industry” organised webinar.
Union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh addresses Bamboo Webinar & informed that three Bamboo Clusters will be developed in the Jammu region in the vicinity of Katra, Jammu and Samba towns for making of Bamboo basketary, Agarbatti and Bamboo Charcoal. It will provide direct employment opportunities to about 25,000 people. Apart from this a Mega Bamboo Industrial Park near Jammu and Bamboo Technology Training Centre will also come up in the region within two years of the allotment of land by the UT of J&K administration.International Coastal Clean-Up Day is celebrated across 100 countries on third Saturday in September. - 47th National Management Convention (NMC) of All-India Management Association (AIMA) being held on 21-22 September 2020. The Convention is being chaired by Sunil Kant Munjal, Chairman, Hero Enterprise. The theme for the Convention this year is “Getting Through the Pandemic and Beyond”. Madras Management Association (MMA) has won the award for “Best Management Association in India” for 2019-20.
