Successful field trial of Drone spraying of Nano Urea
⇒ In the presence of Union Minister of Chemicals & Fertilizers and Health & Family Welfare Shri Mansukh Mandaviya, a practical field trial of Drone Spraying of Nano Liquid Urea was conducted in Bhavnagar, Gujarat.
This demonstration of spraying liquid nano urea by drone was undertaken by IFFCO, a company involved in developing nano urea.
Key Points:
- India has become the first country in the world to start commercial production of Nano Urea.
- It started production in June and till now more than 5 million bottles of Nano Urea have been produced. More than one lakh bottles of nano urea are being produced every day.
Chief Hydrographer to the Govt of India
⇒ Vice Admiral Adhir Arora, NM has taken charge as the Chief Hydrographer to the Govt of India from Vice Admiral Vinay Badhwar, AVSM, NM who superannuated on 30 September 2021.
Vice Admiral Adhir Arora was commissioned in the Executive branch of the Indian Navy in 1985.
Air Officer Commanding in Chief (AOC-in-C) of Western Air Command
⇒ Air Marshal Amit Dev AVSM VSM ADC assumed the appointment of Air Officer Commanding in Chief (AOC-in-C) of Western Air Command on 01 October 2021.
An alumnus of National Defence Academy, the Air Marshal was commissioned in the flying branch of IAF in December 1982 as a Fighter pilot.
Vice Chief of the Air Staff
⇒ Air Marshal Sandeep Singh AVSM VM took over as Vice Chief of the Air Staff (VCAS) on 01 October 2021.
An alumnus of National Defence Academy, the Air Marshal was commissioned in the flying branch of IAF in December 1983 as a Fighter pilot. The Air Officer is an Experimental Test Pilot and a Qualified Flying Instructor.
Chief of Integrated Defence Staff to the Chairman, Chiefs of Staff Committee
⇒ Air Marshal BR Krishna assumed charge of Chief of Integrated Defence Staff to the Chairman, Chiefs of Staff Committee (CISC) on October 01, 2021.
Commissioned as a fighter pilot in 1983, Air Marshal Krishna has had a distinguished career spanning over 38 years.
International
Industrial Security Agreement (ISA) summit
⇒ The Industrial Security Agreement (ISA) summit between India and the United States was held between September 27 to October 01, 2021 at New Delhi.
Aim:
The summit was organised to develop protocol for the exchange of classified information between the defence industries of both the nations.
Led by:
The Summit was led by Designated Security Authorities (DSAs) namely Shri Anurag Bajpai and Mr David Paul Bagnati from Indian and US sides respectively.
Discussion:
During the summit, both the sides agreed in-principle to establish the Indo-US Industrial Security Joint Working Group. This group will meet periodically to align the policies and procedures expeditiously that will allow the defence industries to collaborate on cutting edge defence technologies.
Background:
The ISA was signed in December 2019 to facilitate the exchange of classified information between the defence industries of both the countries. It was held to create a roadmap for the implementation of the ISA.
5th East Asia Summit Education Ministers’ Meeting
The Union Minister for Education and Skill Development, Shri Dharmendra Pradhan addressed the 5th East Asia Summit Education Ministers’ Meeting on 01 October 2021.
Chaired by:
The Meeting was chaired by H.E Leonor Magtolis Briones, Secretary of Education of the Republic of the Philippines.
Addressing on the occasion, Shri Pradhan said:
- India is building global competencies to fulfill 21st century aspirations.
- He reaffirmed India’s commitment foster long-term and mutually beneficial educational cooperation in sync with the complementarities outlined in the Manila Action Plan.
- He shared the objectives of India’s National Education Policy, including universalisation of education, ensuring equity, quality, affordability & flexibility, technology-based learning and several others which uphold the principles of the Manila Action Plan on Education.
- He also reaffirmed India’s support to strengthening research and academic collaborations, including in TVET, promoting student & academic exchanges for fulfilling aspirations of the students.

96th Raising Day of MNS
⇒ Military Nursing Service celebrated its 96th Raising Day on 01 October 2021.
On October 01, 1926, a permanent nursing service was raised as a part of Indian Army. Promulgation of Military Ordinance on September 15, 1943 permanently established MNS as part of Armed Forces.
