IBPS – Regional Rural Banks (RRBs) – CRP RRBs IX, Exam Pattern & Syllabus

  • RRB office assistant (multipurpose) Examination: It comprises two online objective examination preliminary exam and main exam.
  • RRB officer Scale I Examination: It comprises three steps, First Online Preliminary Examination (objective), Second Online Main Examination (objective) and Third Interview.
Note: IBPS conducts examination on philosophy of Speed, Accuracy, Confidentiality. You have to increase you speed to attempt all questions, within time with accuracy and confidence.

Note: Candidates (for both posts) have to qualify in both the tests by securing minimum cut-off marks. Adequate number of candidates in each category, depending upon requirements, will be shortlisted for Online Main Examination.

Officer Scale I: Structure of the Online Main Examination (objective) ​

PENALTY FOR WRONG ANSWERS (APPLICABLE TO ALL – PRELIMINARY, MAIN)

There will be penalty for wrong answers marked in the Objective Tests. For each question for which a wrong answer has been given by the candidate one fourth of the marks assigned to that question will be deducted as penalty to arrive at corrected score. If a question is left blank, i.e. no answer is marked by the candidate; there will be no penalty for that question.

CUTOFF SCORE

Office Assistant (Multipurpose)

Each candidate will be required to obtain a minimum score in each test of Online Main examination to be considered to be shortlisted for provisional allotment. Depending on the number of vacancies available in each state, candidates will be shortlisted for provisional allotment.

Officers Scale I 

Each candidate will be required to obtain a minimum score in each test of Online Main Examination to be considered to be shortlisted for interview. Depending on the number of vacancies available, adequate number of candidates in each category not exceeding three times of the declared vacancies in each state shall be called for interview, subject to availability. Prior to the completion of the interview process, scores obtained in the Online Main Examination will not be shared with the candidates shortlisted for interview.

SCORES OBTAINED IN THE ONLINE EXAMINATION (Preliminary / Main)

The corrected scores obtained by each of the candidates in different sessions (if held) will be normalized using equipercentile method. Scores upto two decimal points shall be taken for the purpose of calculation. 

FOR THE POST OF OFFICE ASSISTANT (MULTIPURPOSE) – Marks obtained only in the main examination will be considered for final merit listing.

FOR THE POST OF OFFICERS SCALE I – Marks obtained only in the main examination will be considered for shortlisting for INTERVIEW and final merit listing.  

Syllabus of RRBs Examination for Office Asst. and Officer Scale I:

Quantitative Aptitude Topics: Approximation, Quadratic equation inequalities, Simplification, Missing series, Wrong series, Percentage, S.I., C.I. , Mixture allegation, Ratio and Proportion, Average, Age related, Number System, Time & Work, Boat & Stream, Pipe & Cistern, Distance Speed and Time, Permutation and Combination, Probability, Profit and Loss, Mensuration, Data Sufficiency, DI ( Table, Pie Chart, Bar dig., Line , Mixture of two DI ), Miscellaneous Word Problem etc.

Reasoning Topics: Syllogism, Direction, Puzzles (Floor, Circle, Square etc related arrangements includes easy, moderate and complex puzzles), Coding-Decoding(different types) , Inequalities, Alphanumeric & symbolic Series, Blood Relation, Machine Coding, Word Arrangements etc.

Computer Awareness Topics: Basic computer Knowledge related to Computer Architecture, Operating System, Network, Storage, Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point etc Shortcuts, Hardware etc.

General Awareness Topics: Current Affairs, Banking Awareness, Business related news, GDP, Budget Important Dates, Prize and Awards, Sports etc.

English Language Topics: Comprehension, Close test, Sentence Rearrangement, Synonyms and Antonyms,Sentence Error Detection, Fill in the Blanks, Phrase/Idiom etc.

Hindi Language Topics: Topics are similar to English. language of question will be Hindi.
