The Men’s Hockey Asia Cup 2025 was held in Rajgir, Bihar, India from 29 August to 7 September 2025.

» Union Minister for Youth Affairs & Sports and Labour & Employment, Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya unveiled the glittering 12th Men’s Asia Cup Hockey Championship Trophy on 25 August 2025.

  • This was the 12th edition of the Men’s Hockey Asia Cup.
  • The Rajgir edition is historic as it is the first major international hockey tournament held in Bihar.
  • These matches were played at the Bihar Sports University Hockey Stadium in Rajgir Sports Complex.
  • Eight teams participated in the Asia Hockey Cup 2025 which included India, China, Japan, Chinese Taipei, Malaysia, South Korea, Kazakhstan, and Bangladesh.

Men’s Hockey Asia Cup, quadrennial international men’s field hockey championship of Asia was organized by the Asian Hockey Federation.

Mascot:

» Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar unveiled the logo and mascot of the 12th Men’s Asia Cup Hockey Championship at the Chief Minister’s Secretariat in Patna on 17 August 2025.

  • The mascot of this edition was “Chand”. It was inspired by the national animal ‘Tiger’. It symbolizes the courage, agility and skill of the national animal of India.
  • The name “Chand” was also inspired by the great hockey player Major Dhyan Chand. He created history in this game by practicing on moonlit nights.
  • The mascot was also inspired by the majestic tiger of Valmiki Tiger Reserve, Bihar, which symbolizes strength, agility and confidence.
  • The red cape on the mascot represents strength and enthusiasm, while the magician’s hat pays a humble tribute to the extraordinary talent of Major Dhyan Chand.

Men's Hockey Asia Cup 2025 Final:

» The final match of Hockey Asia Cup 2025 was played between India and South Korea on 07 September 2025 at Rajgir, Bihar.

Winner:

Indian Men’s Hockey Team won the Men’s Hockey Asia Cup 2025 title after defeating defending champions Republic of Korea 4-1 in the final at the Rajgir Sports Complex. This was India’s fourth victory in Asia Cup Hockey.

  • With this title, India have ended their eight-year-long wait to regain their supremacy in the continent. India last won the Asia Cup in 2017 in Dhaka.
  • With this win, India also qualified for the FIH Hockey World Cup 2026 to be held in the Netherlands and Belgium.

3rd Place Match:

  • Malaysia defeated China 4–1 to finish third.
