The 2023 French Open Grand Slam tennis tournament was held at the Stade Roland Garros in Paris, France, from 28 May to 11 June 2023.
- It was the 127th edition of the French Open and the second Grand Slam event of 2023.
Men’s singles title:
Novak Djokovic won the Men’s singles title. Novak Djokovic created history at Roland Garros as he won his record 23rd Grand Slam title with a victory in French Open by defeating Casper Ruud of Norway 7-6 (7/1), 6-3, 7-5.
- By achieving this feat, Novak Djokovic broke his tie with Rafael Nadal for the men’s singles record. Rafael Nadal has won 22 Grand Slam men’s singles titles, second-most of all time. Novak Djokovic becomes the first male player to secure three or more victories in each of the four major tournaments.
Women’s singles title:
Iga Swiatek won the French Open women’s singles title with a 6-2, 5-7, 6-4 win over Karolina Muchova.
- She won her third French Open and fourth grand slam title (French Open 2020, 2022, 2023; US Open 2022).
Rafael Nadal was the defending champion in men's singles but withdrew from the 2023 French Open due to injury.
- This is the first time that 14-time champion Nadal has missed the tournament since his debut in 2005.
