2023 French Open Grand Slam Tennis Tournament

The 2023 French Open Grand Slam tennis tournament was held at the Stade Roland Garros in Paris, France, from 28 May to 11 June 2023.

  • It was the 127th edition of the French Open and the second Grand Slam event of 2023.
Men’s singles title:

Novak Djokovic won the Men’s singles title. Novak Djokovic created history at Roland Garros as he won his record 23rd Grand Slam title with a victory in French Open by defeating Casper Ruud of Norway 7-6 (7/1), 6-3, 7-5.

  • By achieving this feat, Novak Djokovic broke his tie with Rafael Nadal for the men’s singles record. Rafael Nadal has won 22 Grand Slam men’s singles titles, second-most of all time. Novak Djokovic becomes the first male player to secure three or more victories in each of the four major tournaments.
Women’s singles title:

Iga Swiatek won the French Open women’s singles title with a 6-2, 5-7, 6-4 win over Karolina Muchova.

  • She won her third French Open and fourth grand slam title (French Open 2020, 2022, 2023; US Open 2022).

Rafael Nadal was the defending champion in men's singles but withdrew from the 2023 French Open due to injury.

  • This is the first time that 14-time champion Nadal has missed the tournament since his debut in 2005.
