8th National Photography Awards: Theme for Professional Category and Amateur Category

  • This year’s theme for the Professional Photographers was ‘Life and Water.’
  • This year’s theme for the Amateur Photographers was ‘Cultural Heritage of India.’

8th National Photography Awards Winners:

A total of 13 awards were presented during the ceremony including 6 each in the Professional and Amateur category.

13 awards comprised of one Lifetime Achievement Award; one award each in Professional Photographer of the Year category and Amateur Photographer of the Year category; and 5 Special Mention Awards in both Professional and Amateur categories.

Entries Received:
  • Shri Vijay Kranti, Chairman of Jury for the awards informed the audience that a total of 9 entries were received for Lifetime Achievement Award while 12 were entered in the category on recommendation of Jury members.
  • He further informed that 462 entries with a total of 4,535 images were received for the Professional category. These entries were received from 21 States and 4 Union Territories.
  • In the Amateur category, 874 entries with 6,838 images were received from 24 States and 6 Union Territories.

  • The National Photography Awards are conferred under three categories – Lifetime Achievement Award, Award for Professional Photographers, and Award for Amateur Photographers.
  • The Lifetime Achievement Award carries a Cash Prize of Rs 3,00,000.
  • The awards under the Category for Professionals are one ‘Professional Photographer of the year’ award with a Cash prize of Rs 1,00,000 and five Special Mention Awards with a cash prize of Rs 50,000 each.
  • The awards under the Category for Amateurs are one ‘Amateur Photographer of the year’ award with a Cash prize of Rs 75,000 and five Special Mention Awards with a cash prize of Rs 30,000 each.
