D&B Business Excellence Awards 2022

⇒ The Manthan platform won NSEIT the Best Tech Initiative of the Year at the Dun & Bradstreet Business Excellence Awards 2022 on 29th November 2022 during an event in Mumbai.

    • The award was presented for building the technology infrastructure to support Manthan, a platform that promotes collaboration at scale between industry and the scientific research and development ecosystem.
    • The development of the platform was conceptualized and implemented by the Office of the Principal Scientific Adviser (PSA) to the Government of India.
About Manthan:

Manthan is aimed at promoting collaboration between industry and the scientific research and development ecosystem. Launched on India’s 76th Independence Day, Manthan empowers multiple stakeholders to collaborate for co-creating solutions aligned with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and our national scientific missions.

Dun & Bradstreet Business Excellence Awards 2022:
    • Dun & Bradstreet is a global provider of B2B data, insights, and AI-driven platforms for organizations around the world.

2nd Sustainable Agriculture Summit & Awards

⇒ Union Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Shri Narendra Singh Tomar addressed as the chief guest at the 2nd Sustainable Agriculture Summit & Awards organized by FICCI in New Delhi on 30 November 2022.

Union Minister Shri Narendra Singh Tomar said that today educated youth are getting attracted towards Agriculture sector and the government is continuously encouraging them through various schemes and programmes to join the Agriculture sector.

FICCI announced the launch of the 2nd edition of “Sustainable Agriculture Awards” 2022.

Important Winners:

» HarvestPlus received the “Sustainable Agriculture Awards” 2022 from Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI) on November 30, 2022.

    • HarvestPlus received this award under the “Innovative Technology/ Services Promoting Sustainable Agriculture” category.

» Accion Fraterna(AF) Ecology Centre, a non-governmental organisation, has been recognised for running the ‘Best Outstanding Sustainable Agriculture Development Progamme’ in the country by FICCI.

    • Accion Fraterna(AF) Ecology Centre is a non-governmental organisation working with dryland farmers for the past 40 years in 230 villages of undivided Anantapur district.
    • AF Ecology Centre Director Y.V. Malla Reddy thanked the FICCI for recognising their efforts in promoting the ‘Navadhanya’ concept.
    • Under this concept, different types of crops are grown at one place so that the farmer family gets some or other crop to reap round the year.

» Sohan Lal Commodity Management (SLCM), India’s leading comprehensive service provider in the global post-harvest space for agricultural commodities has received the prestigious “Sustainable Agriculture Awards” 2022 from FICCI.

    • SLCM has retained this prominent award for the second consecutive year under the “Innovative Product/Technology/Services Promoting Sustainable Agriculture” category.
    • The prestigious award was conferred on SLCM for its contribution towards innovation under large enterprise through its proprietary ‘AgriReach’ process management system.

» List of awardees this year includes global FMCG giants like Coca Cola, Yes Bank and Nestle, among others.

    • The objective of these awards is to recognize and showcase programs that promote sustainable agriculture development and those that focus on improving farmers’ income.
    • The contest aims to help in the exchange of knowledge, best practices, and innovative solutions for the development of sustainable agriculture practices and enhancing farmers’ income.

Signing of arrangement regarding Korea’s EDCF loan to India

⇒ India and South Korea signed the arrangement regarding Economic Development Cooperation Fund (EDCF) loan of over 245 billion Korean won for establishment of Intelligent Transport System on Nagpur-Mumbai Super Communication Expressway Project in Delhi.

The arrangement between Government of India and Government of Republic of Korea regarding the EDCF loan of Korean Won 245.081 billion (approx. Rs. 1,495.68 crore) was signed on 30 November 2022.

Objective:
    • The objectives of the project are to enhance the efficiency in traffic management through establishment of the Intelligent Traffic Management System (ITMS) and traffic centre.
    • The project will also improve the efficiency in toll management through the establishment of the Toll Collection System (TCS) and to establish a sustainable model of ITS and its O&M through transfer of technology from the Republic of Korea.
Background:
    • Republic of Korea was designated as India’s Official Development Assistance (ODA) partner for development cooperation in October, 2016.
    • This is the first project funded by EDCF loan by the Government of Republic of Korea.
    • The bilateral relationship between the two countries was upgraded to ‘Special Strategic Partnership’ in the year 2015.
