Foundation stone of various projects in Jambughoda
⇒ The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi dedicated and laid the foundation stone of projects worth around Rs 860 crores in Jambughoda, Panchmahal in Gujarat on 01 November 2022.
About Projects:
» The Prime Minister dedicated the new campus of Shri Govind Guru University, Godhara.
- He also dedicated Sant Joriya Parameshwar Primary School and Memorial located at village Vadek and Raja Rup Singh Nayak Primary School and Memorial located in Dandiyapura village.
» The Prime Minister laid the foundation stone for the building of Kendriya Vidyalaya, Godhra.
- He also laid the foundation stone for the development of Godhra Medical College and the expansion of Kaushalya – The Skill University, worth over Rs 680 crores.
Public programme ‘Mangarh Dham ki Gaurav Gatha’
⇒ The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi attended a public programme ‘Mangarh Dham ki Gaurav Gatha’ at Mangarh Hill, Banswara, Rajasthan on 01 November 2022 and paid homage to the sacrifices of unsung tribal heroes and martyrs of the freedom struggle.
Key Points:
- As part of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav, the government has initiated several steps to celebrate unsung tribal heroes of the freedom struggle.
- These include declaring 15th November (birth anniversary of tribal freedom fighter Birsa Munda) as ‘Janjatiya Gaurav Divas’, setting up tribal museums across the country etc to recognise the contribution of tribal people to society and increase awareness about their sacrifices in the freedom struggle.
- In yet another step in this direction, the Prime Minister attended a public programme – ‘Mangarh Dham ki Gaurav Gatha’.
- During the programme, the Prime Minister paid homage to Bhil freedom fighter Shri Govind Guru and also addressed a gathering of Bhil Adivasis and other tribal populations of the region.
Background:
- Mangarh Hill holds special importance for the Bhil community and other tribes of Rajasthan, Gujarat, and Madhya Pradesh.
- During the freedom struggle where Bhils and other tribes engaged in a long stand-off with the British, more than 1.5 lakh Bhils rallied at Mangarh Hill on 17th November 1913 under the leadership of Shri Govind Guru.
- Britishers opened fire at this gathering, leading to Mangarh Massacre where approximately 1500 tribals were martyred.

» Goa hosted the three-day Civil Air Navigation Services Organisation (CANSO) Conference from 1st to 3rd November 2022.

The theme of the CANSO Asia Pacific Conference 2022 was “Think Global, Collaborate Regional, Accomplish Local”.

- More than 150 air traffic management and aviation industry leaders from across the Asia Pacific Region gathered at the Vivanta Goa, Panaji Hotel in Goa, India, for the CANSO Asia Pacific Conference 2022.
- Across the three days, delegates and exhibitors from the Asia Pacific region andbeyond discussed and collaborated on the key issues that will help shape the future of Asia’s aviation industry and turn the Complete Air Traffic System Global Council’s vision for the skies of 2045 into a reality.
- The Global Council for Complete Air Traffic System (CATS) was initiated by CANSO to formulate the vision of the future skies.
- Conference also covered digitalisation and automation as key enablers in delivering CANSO’s vision for future skies.

70th Foundation Day of EPFO
⇒ Union Minister for Labour & Employment, Environment, Forest & Climate Change, Shri Bhupender Yadav inaugurated the 70th Foundation Day of EPFO held at Dr Ambedkar International Centre, New Delhi on 01 November 2022.
On this occasion the Union Minister inaugurated an exhibition named “EPFO @70 – The journey “, displaying the 70 years of EPFO history.
- The Union Minister also launched the document EPFO Vision @ 2047 and a booklet on the Chintan Shivir organized to layout the roadmap for EPFO for the next 25 years.

Noted educationist and social worker, Ms Elaben Bhatt
⇒ Noted educationist and social worker, Ms Elaben Bhatt passed away on 02 November 2022 at Ahmedabad, Gujarat. She was 89.
About Ela Bhatt:
- Ela Bhatt founded the Self-Employed Women’s Association of India (SEWA) in 1972, and served as its general secretary from 1972 to 1996. She was the chancellor of the Gujarat Vidyapith from 7 March 2015 to 19 October 2022.
- Bhatt was one of the founders of Women’s World Banking in 1979 with Esther Ocloo and Michaela Walsh, and served as its chair from 1980 to 1998.
- Ela Bhatt was awarded the civilian honor of Padma Shri by the Government of India in 1985, and the Padma Bhushan in 1986. She was awarded the Ramon Magsaysay Award for Community Leadership in 1977 and the Right Livelihood Award in 1984.
- Bhatt was chosen for the Niwano Peace Prize for 2010 for her work empowering poor women in India. On November 2010, US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton honored Bhatt with the Global Fairness Initiative Award for helping move more than a million poor women in India.
- Ela Bhatt was honored with the prestigious Radcliffe Medal on 27 May 2011 on Radcliffe day for her efforts in helping uplift women. In November 2011, Ela Bhatt was selected for the Indira Gandhi Prize for Peace, Disarmament and Development 2011 for her lifetime achievements in empowering women through grassroots entrepreneurship.
