National:
Khadi Prakritik Paint:
- Union Minister for Road Transport & Highways & MSME, Shri Nitin Gadkari launched an innovative New Paint ‘Khadi Prakritik Paint’, developed by Khadi and Village Industries Commission, on 12 January 2021.
The eco-friendly, non-toxic paint, is a first-of-its-kind product with anti-fungal, anti-bacterial properties.
Based on cow dung as its main ingredient, the paint is cost-effective and odorless, and has been certified by Bureau of Indian Standards.
Khadi prakritik paint is available in two forms distemper paint and plastic emulsion paint.
Sea Vigil-21:
- The second edition of the biennial Pan-India coastal defence exercise ‘Sea Vigil-21’ was conducted from 12 January to 13 January 2021. The exercise was coordinated by the Indian Navy.
Exercise ‘Sea Vigil-21’ provides a realistic assessment of our strengths and weaknesses and thus helps in further strengthening maritime and national security.
30th National Energy Conservation Awards 2020:
- Ministry of Power, in association with Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE), organised the 30th National Energy Conservation Awards 2020 (NECA) function.
Power Minister Shri R. K. Singh presented the awards. The awards were presented to the winners from different industries and sector establishments.
Indian Railway bagging 13 awards in three prestigious categories of National Energy Conservation Awards (NECA) for the year 2020.
Western Railway has been awarded the First Prize, Eastern Railway has been awarded the Second prize, North Eastern Railway & South Central Railway has been awarded Certificate of Merit in the Transport Category.
