NICL (National Insurance Company Limited) AO Recruitment 2025 notification has been released for 266 posts of Administrative Officer Scale-I in both Generalist (170 posts) and Specialist (96 posts) disciplines.

National Insurance Company Ltd. invites applications for recruitment of 266 (Two Hundred and Sixty-Six) Officers in Scale I cadre from open market.

NICL AO Recruitment 2025: Emoluments & Benefits

The starting Basic pay would be Rs 50,925 /- in the scale of Rs.50925-2500(14)-85925-2710(4) -96765 and such other allowances as may be admissible under the rules in force from time to time in the company. Total emoluments will be approximately Rs 90,000/- per month in Metropolitan Centres. Other benefits such as Pension under New Pension scheme governed by PFRDA, Gratuity, LTS, Medical Benefits, Group Personal Accident Insurance etc. shall be as per rules in force in the Company at the time of appointment. The Officers are also entitled for Company’s / leased accommodation as per norms.

In addition to the above, Doctors (MBBS) appointed as Specialist Officers are eligible for Non-Practicing Allowance (NPA) to the tune of 25% of the Basic Pay subject to conditions that may be applicable from time to time.

NICL AO Recruitment 2025: Eligibility Criteria
Nationality:
A candidate applying for recruitment in the Company must be either:

a) a citizen of India, or
b) a subject of Nepal, or
c) a subject of Bhutan, or
d) a Tibetan refugee who came over to India before 1st January, 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India, or
e) a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.

Provided that a candidate belonging to categories (b), (c), (d) and (e) shall be a person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India.

NICL AO Recruitment 2025: Educational Qualification (as on 01.05.2025)

» Candidate should possess certificate in proof of passing the qualifying examination as on 01.05.2025.

The minimum Educational Qualifications required for various disciplines are:
Discipline: Doctors (MBBS)

M.B.B.S / M.D. / M.S. or PG – Medical Degree from a recognized University

OR equivalent foreign degrees which are recognized as such by the National Medical Commission (Formerly Medical Council of India) with the prescribed benchmark.

Furthermore, the candidate must be holding a valid registration from National Medical Commission (Formerly Medical Council of India) or any State Medical Council (as applicable for Allopathy) as on date of the scheduled interview.

Discipline: Legal

Graduate / Post Graduate in Law, from a recognized University with at least 60% marks in either of the degree examination (at least 55% for SC/ST) candidates.

Discipline: Finance

Chartered Accountant (ICAI) / Cost Accountant (ICWA)

OR

B.COM / M.COM

from a recognized University with at least 60% marks in either of the degree examination (at least 55% for SC/ST) candidates.

Discipline: Information Technology

B.E / B.Tech / M.E. / M.Tech in Computer Science/Information Technology / MCA

from a recognized University with at least 60% marks in either of the degree examination (at least 55% for SC/ST) candidates.

Discipline: Automobile Engineering

B.E. / B.Tech. / M.E. / M.Tech in Automobile Engineering

OR

B.E. / B.Tech. / M.E. / M.Tech in any branch of Engineering together with Diploma (at least one year duration) in Automoblie Engineering

from a recognized University with at least 60% marks in either of the degree examination (at least 55% for SC/ST) candidates.

Discipline: Generalist Officers

Graduate / Post Graduate in any stream

from a recognized University with at least 60% marks in either of the degree examination (at least 55% for SC/ST) candidates.

Note:
  • Qualification mentioned above should be from any of the recognized Indian Universities duly approved by the UGC or any of the recognized Indian Institutes duly approved by AICTE.
  • The candidate must possess valid Mark-sheet / Degree Certificate of the necessary qualification as on 01.05.2025.
  • The percentage marks shall be arrived at by dividing the total marks obtained by the candidate in all the subjects in all semester(s)/year(s) by aggregate maximum marks in all the subjects irrespective of honours/optional/additional optional subject, if any. This will be applicable for those Universities also where Class/Grade is decided on basis of honours marks only. The fraction of percentage so arrived will be ignored i.e., 59.99% will be treated as less than 60%.
  • Where CGPA/OGPA are awarded, the candidate will have to produce a certificate issued by the appropriate authority inter alia stating the norms of the University regarding conversion of grade into percentage and the percentage of marks scored by the candidate in terms of norms.
NICL AO Recruitment 2025: Age Limit
Age as on 01.05.2025

Minimum Age: 21 years

Maximum Age: 30 years, as on 01.05.2025

i.e., a candidate must have been born not earlier than 02.05.1995 and not later than 01.05.2004 (both dates inclusive).

NICL AO Recruitment 2025: Selection Process
Part A – Online Examination
The written exam will be conducted in two phases:

Phase – I: Preliminary Examination online (applicable for all disciplines)

Preliminary Examination consisting of Objective Tests (Multiple Choice type Questions) for 100 marks will be conducted online (applicable for all disciplines).

    • This test would be of 60 minutes duration consisting of 3 sections (English Language, Reasoning Ability, Quantitative Aptitude with separate timings for each section).

Phase – II: Main Examination Online

    • Objective Test: The Objective Test of 3 Hours duration consists of five & six sections for Generalists & Specialists respectively for total 250
      Marks. In the Specialist stream, an additional test will be conducted to assess technical and professional knowledge in the relevant discipline.
    • Descriptive Test: The descriptive Test of 30 Minutes duration with 30 marks will be a Test of English Language (Essay – 10 Marks, Précis – 10 & Comprehension – 10 marks). The descriptive test will be in English and will be conducted through on-line mode.
Penalty for Wrong Answers (Applicable to both – Preliminary and Main Examination (objective tests):

There will be penalty for wrong answers marked in the Objective Tests. Each question for which a wrong answer has been given by the candidate, onefourth of the marks assigned to that question will be deducted as penalty to arrive at corrected score.

PART B – Interview

Generalist & Specialist Candidates who have been shortlisted based on online Phase – II (Mains Examination) will subsequently be called for an Interview to be conducted by the Company.

Final Selection:

The combined final score of candidates shall be arrived at on the basis of scores obtained by the candidates in the online Main Examination (Objective test) and Interview. The weightage (ratio) of online Main Examination and Interview will be 80:20 respectively.
