- World Hearing Day is celebrated on 3rd March each year. This aims to raise awareness on how to prevent Deafness and Hearing loss and promote ear and hearing care across the world.
Theme:
World Hearing Day 2021 was celebrated on the theme of “Hearing Care for ALL! Screen, Rehabilitate, Communicate”.
World Hearing Week:
Department of ENT, Command Hospital, Southern Command, Pune celebrated the ‘World Hearing Week’ at ‘SHRAVAN’, from 24 February 2021 to 03 March 2021, to commemorate the World Hearing Day.
SHRAVAN is the only Centre for “Early Intervention & Rehabilitation of Hearing Loss”, for entire Southern Command Zone of Indian Army.
WHO’s World Report on Hearing:
On the World Hearing Day, Dr Harsh Vardhan, Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare as Chairman of Executive Board of WHO released WHO’s World Report on Hearing.
The World report on Hearing is structured in four sections:
- Why hearing matters: hearing across the life-course
- Solutions for everyone: hearing loss can be prevented and addressed
- Facing the challenges: improving access to ear and hearing care
- The vision of ear and hearing care: designing the way forward
