  • The Reserve Bank has confirmed the name of Sashidhar Jagdishan as the chief executive and managing director of HDFC Bank after retirement of Aditya Puri on 20 october 2020.
  •  Indian cinema’s Classic movie “Mughal-e-Azam” celebrated its 60th anniversary. On this Occasion, director K Asif’s son Akbar Asif presenting the screenplay of the film to the Oscars library in Hollywood.
  • UAE launches its first nuclear power plant “Barakah Nuclear Power Plant” in Abu Dhabi. This the first commercial nuclear power station in the Arab world.
  • NIT-Trichy started MA programme in English literature. MA Programme will emphasising the new education policy 2020 & this will dismantle barriers between arts, science and technology programmes in education system, with its motto “locally relevant, globally competitive”.
  • Naval Kishore Ram is appointed in Prime Minister’s Office as deputy secretary. He is 2008 batch IAS officer.

Death:
  • Vangapandu Prasad Rao died on 04 august 2020, at his residence in Parvathipuram of Vizianagaram district because of cardiac arrest. He was 77. He was a revolutionary writer and singer.
  • Rajyotsava award winning Tatvapada singer Dadapeer Manjarla died of prolonged illness in Manjarla village in Raichur taluk. He was 55.
  • Longest serving Director of National School Of Drama, Theatre doyen and legendary teacher Ebrahim Alkazi died because of heart attack on 04 august 2020. He was 94.
