SPIN Scheme

On the occasion of ‘Sewa Diwas’, the birthday of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi:

Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC) launched a unique Scheme called SPIN (Strengthening the Potential of India) and set up a pottery cluster under SFURTI Scheme in Varanasi to empower over 1100 people of the marginalized potters’ community.

About SPIN:

SPIN is a specially designed program to make potters self-sustainable. Under the scheme, KVIC will facilitate potters to get easy loans from banks that will help the potters to diversify their activities and enhance their income. This will reduce their dependence on government subsidy and thus make our potters self-reliant.

Salient Features of SPIN Scheme:
    • It is a no-subsidy program.
    • KVIC facilitates potters to get bank loans under Pradhan Mantri Shishu Mudra Yojana.
    • No financial burden on the exchequer.
    • Beneficiaries can repay the loans in easy installments.

Chairman cum Managing Director (CMD) of NSIC

⇒ Ms. Alka Nangia Arora, IDAS (91) has assumed the additional charge of the post of Chairman cum Managing Director (CMD), The National Small Industries Corporation Ltd. on 14th September, 2021.

Pan-India Special Campaign for Justice Delivery at doorstep

⇒ Ministry of Law and Justice launched Pan-India Special Campaign for Justice Delivery at doorstep.

Department of Justice launched the “Ek Pahal /एक पहल” drive across the country from 17th September till 2nd October to encourage mass registration under Tele-Law.

The medium of Tele Law effectively provides pre-litigation advice / consultation to beneficiaries by Panel Lawyers through a huge network covering 51,434 Common Service Centres in 50,000 Gram Panchayats in 633 districts across 34 States and UTs.

Meghalaya Enterprise Architecture Project (MeghEA)

⇒ Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw, Union Minister of Electronics & Information Technology and Chief Minister of Meghalaya, Shri Conrad Kongkal Sangma jointly launched Meghalaya Enterprise Architecture Project (MeghEA) on 17 September 2021.

Objective:

The MeghEA initiative is spread across 6 pillars i.e. Governance, Human Resources, Entrepreneurship, Primary Sector, Infrastructure and Environment, and envision to make Meghalaya a high income state by 2030.

The project aims to improve service delivery and governance for the people using power of Digital technologies.

Planetarium Innovation Challenge for Indian start-ups and tech entrepreneurs

⇒ MyGov India, under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), has launched the Planetarium Innovation Challenge for Indian start-ups and tech entrepreneurs on 11th September 2021.

Aim:

The challenge aims to bring together the tech firms and Start-ups (based out of India) with the potential to build an indigenous planetariums system software using latest technologies including Augmented Reality (A.R.), Virtual Reality (V.R.) and Merged Reality (M.R.).

The challenge invited applications from start-ups and tech entrepreneurs to develop state-of-the-art technology for our Planetariums.

The first winner, second winner and third winner under the contest will get the cash prizes of Rs 5 lakh, Rs 3 lakh and Rs 2 lakh respectively.

Important Day

World Patient Safety Day

⇒ World Patient Safety Day is observed every year on 17 September across the globe.

Theme:

The theme of World Patient safety Day 2021 is “Safe maternal and newborn care”.

Objective:

The overall objectives of the Day are to enhance global understanding of patient safety, increase public engagement in health care safety, and promote global action to prevent and reduce avoidable harm in health care.

History:

World Patient Safety Day was established in 2019 by the 72nd World Health Assembly through the adoption of resolution WHA72.6 – “Global action on patient safety”.

Rogi Suraksha Saptaah:

The World Patient Safety Day culminates the celebration of “Rogi Suraksha Saptaah’’ in India which was observed from 11th to 17th September 2021.

The Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare Shri Mansukh Mandaviya chaired World Patient Day celebration.

Shri Mandaviya also felicitated the States and UTs for their performance in implementation of National Quality Assurance Standards (NQAS) and LaQshya during the function.
