National Florence Nightingale Awards 2021

⇒ The President of India, Smt Droupadi Murmu presented the National Florence Nightingale Awards for the year 2021 to the Nursing professionals on November 7, 2022 at Rashtrapati Bhavan.

About Award:

The National Florence Nightingale Awards were instituted in the year 1973 by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India as a mark of recognition for the meritorious services rendered by the nurses and nursing professionals to the society.

Ahimsa International Award 2022

⇒ Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal graced the Ahimsa Vishwa Bharti National Conference as Chief Guest. The Conference was held in Mumbai on 6th November 2022.

    • The Minister highlighted India’s mission to become a Vishwaguru at the event.
Ahimsa International Award 2022:

Rakesh ji, Jain International Trade Organisation and Sanjay Ghodawat Foundation were conferred with Ahimsa International Award 2022 on this occasion.

    • Mr Sanjay Ghodawat, President of Sanjay Ghodawat Foundation, the CSR wing of Sanjay Ghodawat Group (SGG), was felicitated with the – Ahimsa International Award, for his impactful contribution in Corporate Social Responsibility, Sustainability and Social Impact.

Performance Grading Index (PGI) for States/UTs for 2020-21

⇒ The Department of School Education and Literacy, Ministry of Education released the Performance Grading Index (PGI) for States/UTs for 2020-21 on 03 November 2022.

    • Performance Grading Index (PGI) for States/UTs is a unique index for evidence based comprehensive analysis of school education system across State/UTs.

Maritime Partnership Exercise between Royal Australian Navy and Indian Navy

⇒ A Maritime Partnership Exercise involving Royal Australian Navy (RAN) ships HMAS Adelaide and HMAS Anzac and Indian Navy Ships Jalashwa and Kavaratti along with their embarked helicopters was held in the Bay of Bengal from 02 to 03 November 2022.

About Maritime Partnership Exercise:
    • The exercises included tactical manoeuvres, helicopter landings and amphibious operations, which signified the high degree of interoperability between IN and RAN.
    • The harbour phase included a wide range of professional interactions including experience sharing, joint planning activities and friendly sports exchanges.
Other Points:
    • RAN ships HMAS Adelaide and HMAS Anzac visited Visakhapatnam from 30 October to 01 November 2022. This was part of Australia’s Indo-Pacific Endeavour 2022 (IPE 22).
    • The Australian Defence Forces were hosted by the Eastern Naval Command.
    • Ships of the Indian Navy’s Eastern Fleet as also personnel from the Indian Army and the Indian Air Force participated in various joint activities.

Vishwa Sadhbhavana Event in Dubai

⇒ The Union Minister of State for Electronics & IT and Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, Shri Rajeev Chandrasekhar addressed the Indian diaspora at the Vishwa Sadhbhavana event on 05 November 2022 in Dubai, UAE.

The event was organized by the NID Foundation.

At the programme, where members of the Indian diaspora were present in huge numbers, Shri Chandrasekhar also launched two books about the impact of 20 years of leadership of PM Narendra Modi:

    1. ‘Modi@20: Dreams Meet Delivery’
    2. ‘Heartfelt: The Legacy of Faith’
Other Points:
    • The Minister, who was on a day-long trip to Dubai, had earlier held a meeting with Mr. Omar Sultan Al Olama, UAE Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy & Remote Work Applications.
    • Shri Chandrasekhar shared with him PM Shri Narendra Modi’s vision of New India and discussed the possibilities of cooperation between the two countries, especially in the field of deep tech, artificial intelligence, electronics and semiconductors.
    • The Minister also visited Ajman, UAE to attend the Deepotsav 2022 event organized by the Indian People’s Forum (IPF) UAE Uttar Pradesh Council.

553rd Prakash Parv of Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji

⇒ The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi attended and offered prayers at celebrations of the 553rd Prakash Parv of Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji, in New Delhi on 7 November 2022. The Prime Minister was felicitated with Shawl, Siropa and Sword.

    • Addressing the gathering the Prime MInister greeted everyone on the auspicious occasion of Gurpurab and Prakash Parv and also for Dev Deepawali.
Key Points:
    • Guru Nanak Jayanti, also known as Prakash Utsav or Guru Purab, is observed every year as the birth anniversary of the Sikh founder, Guru Nanak Dev.
    • The year 2022 was marked as the 553rd birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev.
