- The Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) on 27 January 2021 observed the International Customs Day, 2021.
The theme for this year as given by World Customs Organisation (WCO) is “Customs bolstering Recovery, Renewal and Resilience for a sustainable supply chain”.
Seventeen officers have been awarded with WCO Certificate of Merit for the year 2021, for their exemplary contribution.
Death:
- US actress Cloris Leachman has died in California on 27 January 2021. She was 94. She won best supporting actress Oscar for her role in the 1971 film The Last Picture Show.
- Former Karnataka minister and JD(S) MLA, M C Managuli died due to Covid-19 complications in Bengaluru, on 28 January 2021. He was 85. He was two-time MLA from Sindgi constituency in Vijayapura district.
