Jeevan Raksha Padak Series of Awards- 2020:
- The President of India has approved the conferment of Jeevan Raksha Padak Series of Awards – 2020 on 40 persons.
It includes one, Sarvottam Jeevan Raksha Padak, Eight, Uttam Jeevan Raksha Padak and 31, Jeevan Raksha Padak. One award is posthumous.

Bharat Parv- 2021:
- Bharat Parv, a mega event is organized every year to coincide with the republic Day Celebrations. Bharat Parv- 2021 was held from January 26 to 31 January, 2021, & organized on a virtual platform by Ministry of Tourism, due to Covid pandemic situation.
The Virtual platform included theme pavilion for States, UT’s and various Ministries. The overall theme of Bharat Parv was focused towards Aatmanirbhar Bharat and Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat.

US Secretary of State:
- US Senate confirmed Antony Blinken as the nation’s 71st secretary of state. Senators voted 78-22 to approve Blinken.
He was sworn in as secretary of state on 26 January 2021.
78th Golden Globe Awards 2021:
- 78th Golden Globe Awards 2021 will honor American actor Jane Fonda with the Cecil B. deMille Award, and Television pioneer Norman Lear with the Carol Burnett Award (lifetime achievement award). This was announced by the organizer Hollywood Foreign Press Association.
78th Golden Globe Awards 2021 will be held on 28 February 2021.
74th International Cannes Film Festival 2021:
- The Cannes Film Festival organisers announced on 27 January 2021 that this year’s festival will now take place July 6-17 i.e. about two months after its typical period.
Death:
- Renowned Social Scientist and Economist Shaibal Gupta died in Patna on 28 January 2021. He was 67. He was the founder of the Asian Development Research Institute in Patna, Bihar.
He made important contributions to several economic reforms carried out in Bihar as a member of the state finance commission.
