- Dr Harsh Vardhan, Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare addressed the 7th annual summit of NATHEALTH’ on 26 March 2021, via video conferencing. The summit was focused on ‘Indian Health system expansion in post-COVID era’.
While addressing the summit the Union Minister said Health has been marked as one of the six pillars to propel growth in Budget 2021-22. A holistic approach towards health and wellbeing has been adopted with an enormous financial allocation of Rs 2,23,846 crore in 2021-22.
The Union Minister also underlined the importance of strengthening the role of the private sector in India’s health system. He said, “If India is to achieve the highest standards of the healthcare system worldwide, this cannot happen without the support of the private sector.
The ultimate goal of providing ‘Health for All’ cannot be achieved without the active participation of the public as well as the private sector. The provision of health care facilities can be made more extensive with the active participation of the private sector.
