9th Integrated Ratings for State Power Distribution Utilities
⇒ Union Minister of Power, New and Renewable Energy, Shri R.K. Singh released 9th Integrated Ratings for State Power Distribution Utilities on 16 July 2021.
The 9th Annual Integrated Rating exercise covers 41 States Power Distribution Utilities spread across 22 States, for the rating period financial year 2019-20.
The Integrated Rating exercise is carried out on an annual basis since 2012 as per the methodology approved by Ministry of Power.
Credit Rating Agencies:
ICRA and CARE are the designated credit rating agencies. The Ninth Integrated Ratings have been carried out by ICRA Analytics Limited (IAL) & CARE Advisory Research & Training Limited (CART), the consulting arms of ICRA ratings and CARE respectively.

⇒ Recently, Cisco announced the appointment of Daisy Chittilapilly as the new president of its India & SAARC operations. Chittilapilly started her new role from August 1, 2021. She took over from Sameer Garde.
As president of the India & SAARC operations, she is responsible for strategy and sales, operations, and investments to drive long-term growth in the region.
AWS Public Sector Startup Ramp in India
⇒ Amazon Web Services (AWS) on 12 July 2021 announced the launch of AWS Public Sector Startup Ramp in India, a new programme that is designed to help early-stage technology startups to build solutions for the public sector using its platform. India is the first country where the programme is being rolled out.
AWS Startup Ramp is an acceleration programme for startups that are building innovative solutions for public sector customers worldwide, including but not limited to customers in national and local government, space and defense, and healthcare.

World Badminton Championships 2026 in India
⇒ India will host the World Badminton Championships in 2026, the sport’s global governing body, Badminton World Federation, said on 13 July 2021.
India was scheduled to organize the Sudirman Cup in 2023, but the Badminton World Federation decided to award the hosting rights of the world mixed team championships to China.
First Indian to judge the gymnastics competition at the Olympic Games
⇒ Deepak Kabra became the first Indian to judge the gymnastics competition at the Olympic Games. Kabra officiated as a judge on the men’s artistic gymnasts at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics Games.
The 2010 Commonwealth Games in India was his first international assignment and Kabra went on to become the first Indian judge to officiate in the 2014 Asian Games and Youth Olympics. He also officiated as a judge in the Asian Games and Commonwealth Games in 2018.
