National:

26th 'Hunar Haat' in New Delhi:

  • Union Ministry of Minority Affairs organised 26th ‘Hunar Haat’ of indigenous artisans and craftsmen from across the country at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in New Delhi from 20th February 2021.

It was formally inaugurated by Union Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas Shri Dharmendra Pradhan on 21 February 2021.

Theme:

The 26th “Hunar Haat” was organised with the theme of “Vocal for Local” from 20th February to 01st March 2021.

In the Hunnar Haat 600 artisans and craftsmen, including a large number of women artisans, from more than 31 States/UTs was participated.

During 06th February to 14th February, 2021, “Hunar Haat” was organised at Mysuru, Karnataka.

In the coming days, “Hunar Haat” will be organised at Goa, Bhopal, Jaipur, Chandigarh, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Ranchi & other places.

International Cruise Terminal, Sagarika at Cochin Port:

  • The Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi inaugurated the country’s first full-fledged international cruise terminal, Sagarika at Cochin Port and Marine Engineering Training Institute of Cochin Shipyard Ltd on 14 February 2021.

ISRO & MapmyIndia Joined Hands Together:

  • Indian Space Research Organisation and location and navigation technology solutions provider MapmyIndia announced an initiative to partner together to offer India’s best, and fully indigenous, mapping portal and geospatial services. This will create an alternative to Google Maps/Earth.

Golden Peacock Award for Excellence in Corporate Governance 2020:

  • Indian Pharmaceutical Company, Laurus Labs has won the prestigious Golden Peacock Award for Excellence in Corporate Governance 2020.

Golden Peacock Award was instituted in 1991 by the Institute of Directors (IOD), India. The award is regarded as a global stamp of Corporate Excellence.

29th Edition of NASSCOM Technology and Leadership Forum (NTLF) 2021:

  • Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi addressed the NASSCOM Technology and Leadership Forum (NTLF) 2021 on 17th February 2021 via video conferencing.

The 29th edition of NTLF 2021 was organised from 17th February to 19th February, 2021. It is the flagship event of the National Association of Software and Service Companies (NASSCOM).

The theme of this year’s event was ‘Shaping the future towards a better normal’.

The event hosted 1600 participants from more than 30 countries and more than 30 products were showcased during the three-days of talks.

Sports:

BCCI's New General Manager for Game Development:

  • Delhi Capitals CEO Dhiraj Malhotra has been formally appointed as the BCCI’s new General Manager for Game Development. He joined the office from February 15, 2021.

ICC Men’s Player of the Month Award:

  • India’s wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant won the ICC Player of the Month award. He became the first/inaugural winner of the ICC Men’s Player of the Month award.

Death:

  • Senior child rights activist, Thomas Jeyaraj died on 10 February 2021. He was 64. He was the founder and director of the Centre for Child Rights and Development (CCRD), Mamallapuram. He was a former state convenor of the Campaign against Child Labour, Tamil Nadu.
