Aero India-21 Mobile App:
- Raksha Mantri Shri Rajnath Singh, reviewed the preparation for Aero India – 21 during the Apex Committee Meeting on 15th January 2021 in Bengaluru. He also launched the Aero India-21 mobile app on 15 January 2021.
Aero India 2021, the biennial air show and defence exhibition organized by the Ministry of Defence is scheduled to be held during 03rd-07th Feb 2021 at Air Force Station, Yelahanka, Bengaluru.
Driverless Metro Car:
- Raksha Mantri Shri Rajnath Singh, unveiled state-of-the-art “Driverless Metro Car” for Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) at a function held at BEML’s Bangalore Complex on 15 January 2021.
Indigenously designed & developed state-of-the-art Driverless Metro trains are being manufactured at BEML Bangaluru Complex.

73rd Army Day:
- Indian Army celebrated its 73rd Army Day on January 15, 2021. The theme for the Army Day 2021 is “Indian Army Strong and Capable”.
Every year Indian Army celebrates 15th January as ‘Army Day’ to commemorate the day when General (later Field Marshal) K M Carriappa took over the command of Army from General Sir FRR Bucher, the last British Commander-in-Chief in 1949.
He became the first Commander-in-Chief of Indian Army post Independence.
Foundation Day of IMD:
- 146th Foundation Day of India Meteorological Department (IMD) has been celebrated on 15 January 2021.
On the occasion, Union Minister of Science & Technology, Earth Sciences and Health & Family Welfare, Dr. Harsh Vardhan inaugurated Doppler Weather Radars at Mukteshwar, Uttarakhand and Kufri, Himachal Pradesh; Multi-Mission Meteorological Data Receiving and Processing System in IMD in collaboration with ISRO (MMDRPS) and released Report on Cyclone disturbances during 2020; Hindi Patrika – ‘Mausam Manjusha’; Official e-launched “Online Web Portal of IMD Journal MAUSAM” in collaboration with CSIR-NISCAIR; and released a special issue of Mausam on Tropical Cyclone.
