Participation of IAF Fighter Aircraft:

During the exercise, the IAF participated with Su-30MKl fighter aircraft.

  • C-17 Globemaster III transport aircraft provided airlift support for the induction and de-induction phases of the exercise, while IL-78 air-to-air refueling tankers were utilised for extending the range and endurance of the participating fighters.

Exercise Garuda 25: Highlights

» During the exercise, both air forces conducted a range of complex air operations in a realistic operational environment.

  • IAF’s Su-30MKI aircraft engaged French multirole fighters in challenging simulated air combat scenarios, focusing on air-to-air combat, air defence and joint strike operations.
  • The training involved joint mission planning, coordinated execution of strike and escort missions and familiarisation with each other’s operational procedures, thereby enhancing interoperability.
  • The IAF maintenance crew ensured high serviceability throughout, enabling smooth conduct of all planned missions.
Significance:
  • Exercise Garuda 25 provided an opportunity for professional interaction, exchange of operational knowledge, and sharing of best practices between the two Air Forces.
  • The exercise reaffirmed the strong strategic partnership between India and France and provided valuable operational insights to the participating forces.
