- The Men’s Hockey World Cup 2023 was held at the Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar and the Birsa Munda International Hockey Stadium in Rourkela, India.
- This is the second time in a row that the Hockey World Cup was hosted in India. Earlier, the 14th edition of FIH Men’s Hockey World Cup was held at Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar, India from 28 November to 16 December 2018.

Hockey Anthem:
Hockey India launched the hockey anthem, Jai Ho Hindustan Ki, for the world cup on 05 January 2023.
Mascot:
Olive Ridley, the endangered Olive Ridley Sea turtle was the mascot for the Hockey Men’s World Cup 2023.
- The state government had also set up three fan parks, called Olly Land outside the Birsa Munda and Kalinga Stadium as well as the Puri beach. The area, which was designed with multiple fan parks and restaurants, had a sense of mysticism and wonder.

The Hockey Men’s World Cup 2023 final was held on 29 January 2023 at the Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar.
» Germany won their third title after defeating defending champions Belgium. Germany defeated Belgium 5–4 in a shoot-out after the match ended 3–3 in regular time.
» The Netherlands won the bronze medal by winning 3–1 against Australia.

Performance of India:
The Indian hockey team finished its campaign at the Hockey Men’s World Cup 2023 on a winning note with a 5-2 victory over South Africa at the Birsa Munda Hockey Stadium in Rourkela on 28 January.
- As a result of the win, India finished ninth at the Hockey Men’s World Cup 2023 and South Africa ranked 11th.
