Life Science – Microbiology Part 1

A French biologist, microbiologist, and chemist Louis Pasteur.

His renowned discoveries are:

Principles of vaccination, Microbial fermentation and Pasteurization.

Six Classes of Microorganisms are: Based on disease produced

  1. Bacteria
  2. Virus
  3. Protozoa
  4. Fungi
  5. Helminths- Parasitic worm
  6. Rickettsiae

Rabies is a viral disease,If dog bites then rhabdo virus enters to the mammals body through saliva of dog. Virus causes inflammation of the brain in humans and other mammals & infects the central nervous system.

Virus has either DNA (Deoxyribonucleic acid) or RNA (Ribonucleic acid), In virus both never be present together. Both DNA and RNA are made from nucleotides. AIDS virus has only RNA.

Single cell Euglena, is a genus of flagellate eukaryotes. This is member of the class Euglenoidea. Euglena is connecting link between plants & animals. Euglena swim with the help of flagella.
