- On 23 Aug 2020, South Africa’s all-rounder Jacques Kallis, Australian World Cup-winning all-rounder Lisa Sthalekar, Batsman Zaheer Abbas from Pakistan inducted into the International Cricket Council’s Hall of Fame.

Conference:
- On 19 and 20 Aug, “5th world conference of speakers of parliament” was organized jointly by Inter-Parliamentary Union, Geneva and Parliament of Austria with support of UN. From Indian Side Lok Sabha speaker Om Birla attended via video conferencing.
International:
- On 23 Aug 2020, China successfully launched a new optical remote-sensing satellite Gaofen-9 05 by a Long March-2D carrier rocket. Satellite launched from its Jiuquan Satellite Launch Centre in northwest China. A multifunctional test satellite and another satellite Tiantuo-5 were also launched via the rocket.
