20th New York Indian Film Festival virtual awards 2020
The New York Indian Film Festival is the oldest Indian film event in New York City, North America. NYIFF held every year in April- May but this year because of corona virus pandemic it was postponed. NYIFF virtual award ceremony held this year from 24 July to 02 Aug 2020. This was the 20th NYIFF. NYIFF screened different films in various Indian language includes Hindi, English, Marathi, Tamil, Haryanvi, Ladakhi, Assamese, Bengali, Nepali, Malayalam, Maithili.
Film “Moothon” Malayalam-Hindi bilingual film Directed & scripted by Geetu Mohandas. Co-produced by Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap who helped in penning its Hindi dialogues. Won the big award in NYIFF.

- Best Actor Award – Nivin Pauly for lead role in Moothon film.
- Best Actress Award – Garggi Ananthan for lead role in Run Kalyani film (Directed by Geetha J).
- Best Child Actor Award – Sanjana Dipu for her role in Moothon film.
- Best Director Award – Achal Mishra for his film Gamak Ghar.
- Best Film Category Award – Moothon film directed by Geetu Mohandas
- Best Documentary (Short)Award – Tailing Pond (A 2019 documentary directed by Saurav Vishnu)
- Best Documentary (Feature) Award – Son Rise (Directed by Vibha Bakshi)
- Best Short (Narrative) Award – Arabian Nights ( by Sanat Ganu)
- Best Screenplay Award – Knock Knock Knock (written by Sudhanshu Saria)
