Padma Awards 2020 presented by President of India

The Padma Awards 2020 has been presented by the President of India, Shri Ram Nath Kovind at the Civil Investiture Ceremony on 08 November 2021.

Civil Investiture Ceremony-I:

The President of India, Shri Ram Nath Kovind presented four Padma Vibhushan, eight Padma Bhushan and sixty-one Padma Shri Awards for the year 2020 at the Civil Investiture Ceremony-I held at Rashtrapati Bhavan on the morning of November 8, 2021.

Civil Investiture Ceremony-II:

The President of India, Shri Ram Nath Kovind presented three Padma Vibhushan, eight Padma Bhushan and sixty-one Padma Shri Awards for the year 2020 at the Civil Investiture Ceremony-II held at Rashtrapati Bhavan on the evening of November 8, 2021.

Padma Awards 2020 List:

The list comprises of 7 Padma Vibhushan, 16 Padma Bhushan and 118 Padma Shri Awards. 33 of the awardees are women and the list also includes 18 persons from the category of Foreigners/NRI/PIO/OCI.

About Padma Awards:

Padma Vibhushan, Padma Bhushan and Padma Shri are one of the highest civilian Awards of the country.

The Awards are given in various disciplines/ fields of activities, which include art, social work, public affairs, science and engineering, trade and industry, medicine, literature and education, sports, civil service, etc.

‘Padma Vibhushan’ is awarded for exceptional and distinguished service. ‘Padma Bhushan’ is awarded for distinguished service of high order. ‘Padma Shri’ is awarded for distinguished service in any field.
