27th Kolkata International Film Festival (KIFF)

The 27th Kolkata International Film Festival (KIFF) was held from 25 April to 01 May 2022.

  • The festival, which is generally held in November every year, was postponed due to the pandemic.

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee inaugurated the 27th edition of KIFF at Nazrul Manch on 25 April 2022.

In the 27th KIFF, 163 movies from 40 countries were screened across 10 state-run venues.

International Competition: Innovation in Moving Images:
  • Best Film: JHILLI (Discards), Director: Ishaan Ghose
  • Best Director: Director: Ola Jankowska, ANATOMIA (Anatomy)
  • Special Jury Mention: STREAMS (Streams), Director: Mehdi Hmili
Competition on Indian Language’s Films:
  • Best Film: ADIEU GODARD (Adieu Godard), Director: Amartya Bhattacharyya
  • Best Director: Director: Ishrat R Khan, GUTHLEE LADOO (Guthlee Ladoo)
  • Special Jury Mention: PRAPTI (Receipt), Director: Anuraag Pati
Asian Select (NETPAC Award):
  • Best Film: MANIKBABUR MEGH (The Cloud & The Man), Director: Abhinandan Banerjee
Competition on Indian Documentary Films:
  • Best Indian Documentary Film: NIKKE MANU DI NIKKI KATAAB (The Little Book Of The Little Man), Director: Shuchi Prasad
Competition on Indian Short Films:
  • Best Indian Short Film: GERU PATRA (Geru Patra), Director: Shristipal Singh
