The awards for the BRICS Film Festival 2021 were announced at the closing ceremony of IFFI 52. This was the Sixth Edition of the BRICS Film Festival.
For the first time the BRICS Film Festival was held alongside the 52nd International Film Festival of India in Goa during November 20-28, 2021.
Focus Countries:
The five countries viz Brazil, Russia, South Africa, China and India were also the Focus Countries of the 52nd IFFI and a total of eight films were screened under this section.
List of Award Winners of 6th BRICS Film Festival:
Best film Award: (Both shared the Best film Award at the Festival)
- South African Film ‘Barakat’, Directed by- Amy Jephta
- Russian Film ‘The Sun above Me Never Sets’, Directed by- Lyubov Borisova
Best Director Award:
Lucia Murat (Brazilian Filmmaker), for her documentary film ‘Ana’
Best Actor (Female) Award:
Lara Boldorini (Brazilian actress), for her film On Wheels
Best actor (Male):
Indian actor Dhanush, for the film ‘Asuran’
Jury Special Mention Award:
Director Yan Han, for his film ‘A Little Red Flower from China’
