National:
  • Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on November 18, 2020 tweeted about “gau (cow) cabinet”.The Madhya Pradesh government has been decided to constitute a “Gau Cabinet” for the protection and promotion of cattle in the state. Animal Husbandry, Forest, Panchayat and Rural Development, Revenue, Home and Farmers Welfare Department will be included in the Gau Cabinet. The first meeting will be held on November 22, on Gopashtami at Gau Abhyaaran, Agar Malwa.
Statue of Peace:
  • Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has unveiled ‘Statue of Peace’, on November 16, 2020. This is to mark the 151st Birth Anniversary celebrations of Jainacharya Shree Vijay Vallabh Surishwer Ji Maharaj.
    The statue is 151 inch tall & made from Ashtadhatu i.e. 8 metals, with Copper being the major constituent. The statue is installed at Vijay Vallabh Sadhana Kendra, Jetpura, in Pali, Rajasthan.
    Shree Surishwer Ji Maharaj led an austere life as a Jain Saint working selflessly and dedicatedly to spread the message of Lord Mahavira.
16th Airtel Delhi Half Marathon:
  • Tata Mumbai Marathon 2020 champion Srinu Bugatha will lead a strong Indian field in the annual 16th Airtel Delhi Half Marathon. It will be held on November 29, 2020.
    India’s Olympic gold-medallist shooter Abhinav Bindra was named event ambassador of the Airtel Delhi Half Marathon 2020, on November 19, 2020.
    The international and Indian elite runners will start the Marathon from the Jawahar Lal Nehru Stadium Delhi & running the original race route. Any one can participate using the ADHM App from anywhere across the country, anytime between 25 November to 29 November 2020.
Award:
  • The Infosys Science Foundation will announce the winners of the 12th Infosys Awards on December 2. It will be held on virtual format. In award ceremony, scholars from six categories will be awarded.
    These six categories are: Engineering and Computer Science, Humanities, Life Sciences, Mathematical Sciences, Physical Sciences and Social Sciences.
International:
  • 59th US Presidential Election 2020 results were declared. Democratic Party candidate Joseph R. Biden won the election against opposition Republican Party candidate Donald Trump. Joe Biden will be the 46th President of USA. Kamala Harris will be the Vice-President of USA.
Book:
  • Filmmaker Quentin Tarantino has deal with publishing house HarperCollins for two-book. Publishing house HarperCollins announced about the Tarantino’s first fiction book ‘Once Upon a Time in Hollywood’, which is coming in June 2021. This novel expands the story told in his Academy Award-winning film, ‘Once Upon a Time in Hollywood’, released worldwide in August 2019.
    The second book of Filmaker Tarantino in the series is a non-fiction book, titled “Cinema Speculation”.
Technology:
  • The social media giant Facebook has announced features like Watch Together, Vanish Mode, and new chat themes, for Instagram, Messenger. The Vanish Mode feature is just like WhatsApp’s Disappearing Message feature, if you turn the feature on the message will disappear after a fixed period of time.
Sports:
  • Atlantic Tire Championships held from 07 November to 15 November, 2020. Atlantic Tire Championships mens singles final held on November 15, Denis Kudla won the USTA Pro Circuit title in North Carolina. He defeated Indian Gunneswaran 3-6, 6-3, 6-0.
Other:
  • Veteran journalist and Padma Shri awardee Patricia Mukhim has resigned from the Editors Guild of India (EGI).
