Shivajirao Bhosale Sahakari Bank Licence Cancelled
⇒ On 31 May 2021, RBI said it has cancelled the licence of Shivajirao Bhosale Sahakari Bank, Pune as the lender does not have adequate capital and earning prospects.
RBI also said, As per data submitted by Bank more than 98 per cent of the depositors will receive full amount of their deposits from the Deposit Insurance and Credit Guarantee Corporation.
On liquidation, every depositor would be entitled to receive deposit insurance claim amount of his/her deposits up to a monetary ceiling of Rs 5 lakh from the DICGC.

⇒ The President of India nominated the Senior lawyer Mahesh Jethmalani and BJP leader Swapan Dasgupta were nominated as members of the Rajya Sabha, on 31 May 2021.
Tenure:
Swapan Dasgupta will serve as a member of the upper house for the remainder of his term till April 24, 2022.
Mahesh Jethmalani has been nominated to the seat that fell vacant after the demise of sculptor Raghunath Mohapatra. The term of Jethmalani will be till July 13, 2024 – the remaining tenure of Raghunath Mohapatra.
Novel Hybrid Technology 'SWASTIIK’
⇒ Scientists, Dr VM Bhandari and his group at CSIR-NCL Pune, with support from the Water Technology Initiative of the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, have developed the novel hybrid technology called ‘SWASTIIK’.
The novel strategy of SWASTIIK (Safe Water and Sustainable Technology Initiative from Indian Knowledgebase) can have significant benefits in terms of providing SAFE WATER and also possible health benefits that can also boost immunity.
About Technology:
In this hydrodynamic cavitation technique is used. It combines chemistry, biology, and chemical engineering along with natural resources in the form of natural oils and plant extracts.
The technology involves boiling of a liquid as a result of pressure reduction (cavitation) and also uses natural oils having antimicrobial properties.
In this technology, Modern technology, and Indian traditional knowledge of Ayurveda have been combined to bring safe & healthy drinking water.
This technology can eliminate harmful bacteria, including antimicrobial-resistant bacteria, economically.

Honorary Palme d’or at Cannes 2021
⇒ In the 2021 Cannes Film Festival, US actor-director Jodie Foster will be honoured with Palme d’or. She will also be the guest of honour at the Cannes Film Festival. The organisers of Cannes Film Festival said this on 02 June 2021.
This year’s Cannes Film Festival will be held from 6 July to 17 July, 2021.
