West Bengal State Assembly Election 2021

  • The counting for West Bengal State Assembly Election was started on 02 May 2021. After completion of counting, Election Commission declared the result of eight-phased West Bengal State Assembly Election 2021 for 292 constituencies.

The West Bengal Legislative Assembly has 294 constituencies. Voting for 2 remaining constituencies was delayed and is scheduled to be held on 16 May 2021.

No. of Seats won by Parties:
    1. All India Trinamool Congress- 213
    2. Bharatiya Janata Party- 77
    3. Independent- 1
    4. Rashtriya Secular Majlis Party- 1

All India Trinamool Congress has got the majority seats in West Bengal State Assembly Election 2021.

CM of West Bengal:
  1. All India Trinamool Congress supremo Mamata Banerjee has sworn-in as the Chief Minister of West Bengal at Raj Bhavan in Kolkata for the third time in a row. West Bengal Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar administers the oath to Mamata Banerjee on 05 May 2021.

Assam State Assembly Elections 2021

  • The result of 15th Assam State Assembly Elections 2021 has been announced for 126 constituencies in May 2021. BJP & its alliance (NDA) have got a clear majority in the state. The party has successfully made a comeback for the 2nd term in Assam.

    1. All India United Democratic Front- 16
    2. Asom Gana Parishad – 9
    3. Bharatiya Janata Party- 60
    4. Bodoland Peoples Front- 4

The term of the previous 14th Legislative Assembly of Assam will end on 31 May 2021.

Kerala Legislative Assembly Election 2021

  • The result of 15th Kerala Legislative Assembly Election 2021 has been announced for 140 constituencies in May 2021.

Left Democratic Front (LDF) has got majority in the state. The party has successfully made a comeback for the 2nd term in Kerala.

Puducherry Legislative Assembly Election 2021

  • The result of 15th Puducherry legislative assembly election 2021 has been declared for 30 constituencies in May 2021.

Union Territory Puducherry has 33 members in legislative assembly, out of which three members are nominated by the Centre.

After declaration of result, the AINRC-led NDA is all set to form the Government in Puducherry.

Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly Election 2021

  • The result of 16th Tamil Nadu legislative assembly election 2021 has been announced for 234 constituencies in May 2021. The Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) won the election.

CM of Tamil Nadu:

The DMK’s president, M. K. Stalin, will be sworn in as Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu on May 7, 2021. The Governor of Tamil Nadu Banwarilal Purohit will administer the oath to M K Stalin.

Presidential General elections in Ecuador

  • General elections were held in Ecuador on date confirmed by the National Electoral Council (CNE). The first round & second round was held on 07 February & 11 April, 2021 respectively.

CREO-PSC candidate, Guillermo Lasso defeated UNES Candidate, Andrés Arauz. Guillermo Lasso would take office as the President of Republic of Ecuador on May 24, 2021.

Defence Minister of Republic of Kazakhstan visited India

  • Raksha Mantri Shri Rajnath Singh held bilateral talks with Defence Minister of Republic of Kazakhstan Lieutenant General Nurlan Yermekbayev in New Delhi on April 09, 2021.

Defence Minister of Republic of Kazakhstan Lieutenant General Nurlan Yermekbayev visited india for 3 days during 7-10 April, 2021. During the visit, he visited HQs 12 Corps at Jodhpur and the Longewala sector in Jaisalmer.

During the meeting, both the Ministers exchanged views to further strengthen bilateral defence cooperation, including through training, defence exercises and capacity building.

Maharashtra Congress MLA Raosaheb Antapurkar

  • Maharashtra Congress MLA Raosaheb Antapurkar died on Friday night, 09 April 2021 in Bombay. He was 64. Antapurkar, was a two-time MLA from Deglur assembly constituency in Nanded district.
