- The Centre will introduce its “Pilot Kisan Rail“.This is a “special parcel train” for carrying perishable commodities (carrying vegetables and fruits). The train will be flagged off via video conferencing by Union Minister of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Rural Development and Panchyati Raj, Narendra Singh Tomar and Minister of Railways and Commerce and Industry, Piyush Goyal. The train will be run on a weekly basis from Devlali in Maharashtra to Danapur in Bihar on 7th August.

- Delhi-based writer and activist “Sadia Dehlvi” has passed away on 05 Aug 2020 due to cancer disease. She was 63. Sadia, who hailed from the royal ‘Shama’ family. She edited “Bano” an Urdu women’s journal.
- Novelist Shirley Ann Grau, died on 03 Aug 2020. She was 91. She was born on July 8, 1929, in New Orleans. She won the 1965 “Pulitzer Prize for fiction” for her fourth book, The Keepers of the House.
