National:
- The Ministry of Commerce and Industry and the Ministry of AYUSH have decided to work together to set up an ‘AYUSH Export Promotion Council‘ to boost AYUSH exports. This decision was taken recently in a joint review of AYUSH trade and Industry, which was held through video conference on 4th December 2020.
- At the 37th General Body meeting of Central Zoo Authority chaired by Union Minister for Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Shri Prakash Javadekar two new zoos were granted recognition.
First zoo will be at the Rajgir Zoo Safari in Nalanda, Bihar and second at the Shaheed Ashfaque Ullah Khan Prani Udyaan in Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh. - The Department of Space (DOS) has signed a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) with a Agnikul Cosmos Pvt Ltd. The agreement will allow it to access facilities and technical expertise available in ISRO centres to proceed with their launch vehicle development programme.
The Agnikul Cosmos Pvt Ltd is located in the National Centre for combustion R&D, IIT-M, Chennai. It builds private small satellite launch vehicles.
International:
2nd Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) 2020 conference:
- The Minister of Science and Technology and Vice President of Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), Dr HarshVardhan virtually inaugurated the 2nd Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) 2020 conference in New Delhi on December 4, 2020.
In this conference, scientists and clinicians from across the globe was came together to build Indian Cancer Genome Atlas (ICGA).
Indian Cancer Genomics Atlas (ICGA) has been initiated by a consortium of key stakeholders in India led by CSIR, Government of India.
TCGA is a landmark cancer genomics program that molecularly characterized over 20,000 primary cancer and matched normal samples spanning 33 cancer types. This joint effort between the US- National Cancer Institute and the National Human Genome Research Institute began in 2006, bringing together researchers from diverse disciplines and multiple institutions.
MISAFF 2020:
- The 8th Mosaic International South Asian Film Festival 2020 (MISAFF) is being held from December 4 to December 12, 2020. It is presented by Canadian Community Arts Initiative (CCAI). This year MISAFF 2020 is going online. Canadian actor, Megha Sandhu is the MISAFF 2020 Star presented by ACTRA Toronto.

- International Volunteers Day (IVD) is observed globally on 5th December every year. Union Minister of Youth Affairs & Sports Shri Kiren Rijiju virtually addressed International Volunteer Day on December 4, 2020.
This year theme for International Volunteer Day is ‘Together We Can Through Volunteering‘, which aims to thank volunteers and celebrate their efforts during adversities and beyond.
Shri Kiren Rijiju also announced the names of the V-Awardees 2020.
