Inclusion of four indigenous Games in Khelo India Youth Games 2021:
- The Sports Ministry has approved the inclusion of four indigenous Games to be a part of Khelo India Youth Games 2021. Gatka, Kalaripayattu, Thang-Ta and Mallakhamba are the four games which to be included. 4th Khelo India Youth Games 2021 is scheduled to be held at Panchkula in Haryana.
The four selected games represent different parts of the country.
Kalaripayattu: Origin from Kerala
Mallakhamba: Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, & across India
Gatka- Originates from Punjab, traditional fighting style of the Nihang Sikh Warriors as well as Sport
Thang-Ta: A Manipur Marital Art

Faces of Exchange (IVLP) Award:
- The U.S. Embassy in India and the U.S. Consulate General in Chennai celebrated the 80th anniversary of the International Visitors Leadership Program (IVLP).
During the virtual Program, the global 80 “Faces of Exchange (IVLP) Award” was presented.
The Faces of Exchange (IVLP) Award was presented to Dr. Vandana Gopikumar, co-founder of Chennai-based non-governmental organization The Banyan and The Banyan Academy of Leadership in Mental Health (BALM) in a virtual program held on 18 December 2020.
86th New York Film Critics Circle Awards 2020:
- The 86th New York Film Critics Circle Awards 2020 were announced on December 18, 2020. 2019 American drama film ‘First Cow‘ has been named as the 2020′s best film by New York Film Critics Circle. The film is directed by Kelly Reichardt. The film is based on Raymond’s novel The Half Life.
