Aarogya Manthan 3.0

⇒ Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare Shri Mansukh Mandaviya inaugurated and chaired the inaugural session of Aarogya Manthan 3.0 to mark the third anniversary of Ayushman Bharat – Pradhan Mantri Jan Aarogya Yojana scheme for its three years successful implementation across the country.

The National Health Authority has organized a four-day hybrid (physical and virtual) event Aarogya Manthan 3.0, from 23-25 September and 27 September 2021.

Theme:

The theme of the program was ‘Service and Excellence’.

NHA’s Annual Report:

The Union Minister of Health & Family Welfare also released the third edition of the NHA’s Annual Report 2020-2021 along with the Lessons Learnt Booklet.

‘Ayushman Utkrishta Puraskaar’:

During the event, the Health Minister gave the ‘Ayushman Utkrishta Puraskaar’ award to the best performing AB PM-JAY States/ UTs for efficient implementation of the scheme.

The awards were distributed to the States in the category of top-performing PMAM, top-performing CSC State lead, top- performing Public Hospitals, best performing states and best-performing states in gender equity.

Important Award Winners:

Best Performing State/Union Territory category for the implementation of the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana:

The period considered for the award was October 1, 2020 to August 31, 2021.

Segment 1: State with highest proportion of households with at least one Ayushman card

Large State: Chhattisgarh

Small State: Manipur

Union Territories: Puducherry

Segment 2: State with Highest Hospitalization Rate

Large State: Kerala

Small State: Meghalaya

Union Territories: Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu

About AB PM-JAY:

Ayushman Bharat PM-JAY was launched on 23rd September 2018 from Ranchi by the Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi with the vision to achieve Universal Health Coverage (UHC).

Air Gun Surrender campaign

⇒ Union Minister of State for Forest, Environment and Climate Change, Shri Ashwini Kumar Choubey said that Air Gun Surrender campaign will be launched across the country and retired forest workers, representatives of social organizations etc. will be roped in for the same.

Shri Choubey described the Air Gun Surrender Campaign of the Arunachal Government as an important initiative to save animals and birds from poaching and for their conservation.

Shri Choubey also visited Itanagar Biological Park, the world’s first Hoolok Gibbon Breeding Canter and reviewed the work being done to save this species.

Bijoya Sanskritik Mahotsav

⇒ 16 December 2021 will mark 50 years of the liberation of Bangladesh and India’s victory over Pakistan in the 1971 Indo-Pak War. To commemorate this landmark event in India’s history, Swarnim Vijay Varsh celebrations are being organised throughout the Country.

Bijoya Sanskritik Mahotsav:

A cultural event titled “Bijoya Sanskritik Mahotsav” was organised by the Eastern Command of Indian Army in Kolkata from 26 to 29 September 2021 with the aim of showcasing the cultural linkages between India and Bangladesh during the war.

During the event, various cultural programs including film screening, theatre plays, musical concerts and band performances were organized for five days at Rabindra Sadan and Nandan Convention Centre, Kolkata.

MoU between THSTI & The Nanogen Pharmaceutical Biotechnology JSC

⇒ Translational Health Science and Technology Institute (THSTI), Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of India has entered into a research collaboration with Nanogen Pharmaceutical Biotechnology JSC, a Vietnamese pharmaceutical company which is developing a new vaccine for COVID-19.

For this purpose, a MoU has recently been signed between Translational Health Science and Technology Institute and The Nanogen Pharmaceutical Biotechnology JSC, Vietnam.

The Translational Health Science and Technology Institute has helped Indian companies including Dr. Reddy’s (Sputnik), Zydus Cadilla (DNA vaccine), and Biological E for the clinical trials/development of vaccines for COVID-19.

Global Innovation Index 2021

⇒ Global Innovation Index 2021 was published by the World Intellectual Property Organization, a specialized agency of the United Nations.

Rank of India:
    • India has been ranked 46th among the 132 economies featured in the Global Innovation Index 2021 rankings.
    • This year India ranks 57th in innovation inputs and 45th in innovation outputs.
    • India ranks 2nd among the 34 lower middle-income group economies.
    • India ranks 1st among the 10 economies in Central and Southern Asia.

National Pension System Diwas

⇒ The Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority (PFRDA) observed 01 October 2021 as the National Pension System Diwas (NPS Diwas) to promote pension and retirement planning for a carefree ‘azad’ retirement.

The pension regulator aims to encourage every citizen (working professionals and self-employed professionals) to plan towards creating a financial cushion to ensure for onself a financially sound future after retirement.
