9th National Level Exhibition and Project Competition (NLEPC) of INSPIRE Awards – MANAK

⇒ The 9th National Level Exhibition and Project Competition (NLEPC) of INSPIRE Awards – MANAK (Million Minds Augmenting National Aspirations and Knowledge) was inaugurated at ITPO, Delhi, on 14 September 2022.

Key Points:
    • During the year 2020-21, a total of 6.53 Lakh ideas and innovations were received from all States and UT’s of the country, from which 556 were selected for the exhibition.
    • The exhibition is one of its kind because of the diversity of innovations and geographical balance it represents, It was organized for two days i e.14-15 September 2022.
    • At NLEPC, the exhibits of 556 students from schools across the country were displayed.
    • The students explained their innovations and communicated their inherent merit to all visitors and jury members.
    • Union Minister of State (I/C) Ministry of Science and Technology; Minister of State (I/C) Ministry of Earth Science; MoS of Prime Minister’s Office and Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances & Pensions Dr Jitendra Singh presented INSPIRE awards to 60 Start-Ups, and financial support to 53,021 students, on 16 September 2022 at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi.
    • These innovators will be extended complete incubation support for their entrepreneurship journey.

The NLEPC is an important milestone under the annual INSPIRE Awards – MANAK (Million Minds Augmenting National Aspiration and Knowledge), a flagship scheme jointly implemented by the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, and the National Innovation Foundation– India. National Innovation Foundation– India is an autonomous body of the DST.

"Swachhata" Portal for the Special Campaign 2.0

⇒ Union Minister of State (I/C) Science & Technology, Minister of State (I/C) Earth Sciences; MoS PMO, Personnel, Public Grievances, Pensions, Atomic Energy and Space, Dr Jitendra Singh on 14 September 2022 launched exclusive “Swachhata” Portal for the Special Campaign 2.0, which started on October 2.

Developed by:

Developed by the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG) in the Union Ministry of Personnel, the Portal- is dedicated to Swachhata and reducing pendency of work in Government offices.

MoU between Ministry of Panchayati Raj and the Institute of Rural Management Anand (IRMA), Gujarat

⇒ The Ministry of Panchayati Raj (MoPR), Government of India and the Institute of Rural Management Anand (IRMA), Gujarat signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at the IRMA Campus in Anand, Gujarat on 14 September 2022.

    • Shri Sunil Kumar, Secretary, MoPR and Dr Umakant Dash, Director, IRMA, signed the MoU.

» The MoU has been formulated to give a fillip to the strengthening and capacity building of Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs) across the country; and to establish a framework under which MoPR and IRMA will collaborate in the area of Gram Panchayat Development Planning for Localization of Sustainable Development Goals (LSDGs) through PRIs.

Rajbhasha Keerthi Puraskar

⇒ Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited-Visakhapatnam (RINL) Steel Plant, under Ministry of Steel has been awarded the country’s best Rajbhasha Keerthi Puraskar by the Department of Official Language, Ministry of Home Affairs, on 14 September 2022.

For the fourth consecutive time, RINL bagged the First prize of Rajbhasha Keerthi Puraskar in ‘C’ category (non-Hindi speaking states of the India) for implementation of Hindi.

    • This year, on the occasion of National Hindi Day, Celebrations, the award distribution was jointly organized with 2nd All-India Rajbhasha Sammelan, at Surat, Gujarat.
Other Awardees:
    • In the Hindi In-House magazine category, RINL’s Hindi magazine ‘Sugandh’ again adjudged the best magazine in ‘C’ Region and awarded the “first prize of Rajbhasha Keerthi Puraskar”.
    • Town official Language Implementation Committee (TOLIC)-(PSU), Visakhapatnam coordinated by RINL was also awarded the second prize in ‘C’ category at the same function.
    • Member Secretary, TOLIC (PSU), Visakhapatnam Shri Lalan Kumar also received a certificate of appreciation from Shri Harivansh, Deputy Chairman, Rajya Sabha on this occasion.

G20 Labour and Employment Ministers’ meeting at Bali

⇒ Union Minister of Labour and Employment, Shri Bhupender Yadav, attended the G20 Labour and Employment Ministers’ meeting at Bali, Indonesia on 13 – 14 September 2022.

Union Minister spoke about the importance of countries to come together for promotion of responsive and robust policies relating to employment generation, social protection, skilling and formalization, in the post pandemic period for ensuring a more resilient, equitable and sustainable recovery.

Union Minister also held several bilateral meetings with Countries including Germany, Singapore, UAE, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Netherlands, and Turkiye.
    • In all these meetings, Minister briefed on our upcoming Presidency and broad priorities and sought the support of these Countries and Organizations for our goals.
    • Need for signing of Migration and Mobility Agreement and Social Security Agreement at the earliest was highlighted for facilitating ease of mobility and for ensuring social security to the international workers.

Hindi Diwas

Hindi Diwas in India:

Hindi Diwas is celebrated every year on 14 September.

On 14 September 1949, the Constituent Assembly decided that Hindi would be the official language of the Central Government. After the recommendation of the Rashtrabhasha Prachar Samiti, Hindi Diwas was celebrated from 14 September 1953.

World Hindi Diwas:

‘World Hindi Diwas’ is celebrated every year on 10 January.

The purpose of celebrating this day is to promote Hindi throughout the world. In the year 2006, the then Prime Minister Manmohan Singh had announced to celebrate 10 January as ‘World Hindi Diwas’.
