7 Food Processing Projects

⇒ Union Minister for Food Processing Industries, Shri Pashupati Kumar Paras and the Minister of State for Food Processing Industries, Shri Prahlad Singh Patel inaugurated 7 food processing projects in Uttar Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu on 10 September 2021.

About Projects:

The total cost of these 7 projects is about Rs 164.46 crores and a grant in aid of Rs 27.99 crores has been approved by the Ministry.

Along with this, 3,100 people will get direct and indirect employment, and 16,500 farmers and entrepreneurs will be benefited from these projects.

There are seven food processing projects:
  1. M/s Paakhi Business Pvt. Ltd., Meerut, Uttar Pradesh
  2. M/s Bikanerwala Foods, Gautam Buddh Nagar, Uttar Pradesh
  3. M/s Mourya Aquax, West Godavari, Andhra Pradesh
  4. M/s SKM Egg Product Export (India) Ltd., Erode, Tamil Nadu
  5. M/s Samson CNO Industries, Tiruppur, Tamil Nadu
  6. Centre for Excellence in Grain Sciences, Thanjavur, Tamil Nadu
  7. School of Sensory Science, Thanjavur, Tamil Nadu

Chairman, National Commission for Minorities

⇒ Sardar Iqbal Singh Lalpura took charge as the Chairman, National Commission for Minorities in the presence of Union Minister for Minority Affairs Shri Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi in New Delhi on 10 September 2021.

Book titled “Infant and Child Mortality In Assam – Demographic and Socio-Economic Interrelations”

⇒ Union Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare, Dr Bharati Pravin Pawar inaugurated and presided over the Seminar on Population, Human Capital and Sustainable Development (healthy people – healthy future) on 10 September 2021.

She also inaugurated a digital population clock at the Institute for Economic Growth nestled inside the University of Delhi.

Book:

The Union Minister launched a book titled “Infant and Child Mortality In Assam – Demographic and Socio-Economic Interrelations” written by Dr. Dipanjali Haloi and Dr. Suresh Sharma and a HMIS Brochure / Ready Reckoner at the event.

185th meeting of the Employees' State Insurance Corporation

⇒ The 185th meeting of the Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) was held on 10 September 2021 in Rishikesh, Uttarakhand.

During the meeting, Union Minister for Labour and Employment, Shri Bhupender Yadav announced important decisions.

Key decisions:
    • Approval of 5-acre land parcels for acquisition to set up new 100 bedded ESIC hospitals at Haroholli and Narsapur in Karnataka.
    • Seven new ESIC dispensaries for Kerala.
    • One 30 bedded hospital was approved for Shahjahanpur in Uttar Pradesh.
    • ’Atal Beemit Vyakti Kalyan Yojana’ is now extended up to 30th June 2022.
    • » This is a scheme for unemployment allowance paid at 50 percent of wages for 3 months to those insured persons who lose their jobs for any reason.

ATL Space Challenge 2021 and World Space Week 2021

⇒ Atal Innovation Mission (AIM), NITI Aayog in collaboration with the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) and Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) successfully launched the ATL Space Challenge 2021 for all school students across the country in September 2021.

The challenge was designed for all the school students, mentors and teachers across the country who not only are associated with schools having ATL labs but for all the non ATL schools as well.

Objective:

To enable young innovators of schools across the country to learn and engage in creating new, efficient and innovative solutions for specific, real-world challenges in the Space sector and develop solutions which addresses the key problem areas of the challenge.

Challenge Themes under which the solutions were created:
    1. Explore Space
    2. Reach Space
    3. Inhabit Space
    4. Leverage Space
World Space Week 2021:

ATL Space Challenge 2021 was aligned with World Space Week 2021.

World Space Week is being observed from 4 to 10 October each year at the global level in order to celebrate the contributions of space science and technology.

Theme:

The theme of the World Space Week 2021 was “Women in Space”.

International

Meeting between Union Minister for Women and Child Development, GoI and Foreign Minister and Minister for Women of Australia

⇒ The Union Minister for Women and Child Development Smt Smriti Zubin Irani met with Ms. Marise Payne, Foreign Minister and Minister for Women of Australia on 10 September 2021.

Discussion:

The two Ministers discussed ways and methods to enhance cooperation between India and Australia in the areas of gender equality and women safety.

Ms. Marise Payne visited India to attend the inaugural India-Australia 2+2 Ministerial Dialogue in New Delhi on 11 September 2021.
