National:

Udaipur Science Centre, at Udaipur, Tripura:

  • The Udaipur Science Centre, at Udaipur, Tripura was inaugurated on 28th February 2021. It is the 22nd Science Centre developed by National Council of Science Museums (NCSM) of Ministry of Culture under Scheme for Promotion of Culture of Science.

CRCL recognised as RCL of the World Customs Organisation

  • Central Revenues Control Laboratory, New Delhi, under the Central Board of Indirect Taxes & Customs, has been recognized as a Regional Customs Laboratory (RCL) of the World Customs Organisation (WCO) for Asia-Pacific Region on 02 March 2021.

Uttarakhand New Chief Minister:

  • BJP Leader Shri Tirath Singh Rawat was sworn-in as the Uttarakhand new chief minister on 10 March 2021. The oath of office was administered on Rawat by Uttarakhand Governor Baby Rani Maurya at the Raj Bhawan in Dehradun. He is the 10th Chief Minister of the Uttarakhand. 

2-day GI Mahotsav:

  • Tribal Cooperative Marketing Development Federation Ltd, Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Govt of India was organized “GI Mahotsav” in collaboration with Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration, Mussoorie and Ministry of Culture, Govt of India on 4th and 5th March 2021.

More than 40 authorized sellers of identified GI products and tribal artisans was participated and exhibiting their goods at this event which was held in the premises of Lal Bahadur Shastri Academy of Administration (LBSNAA).

International:

Gandhi Peace Prize 2020:

  • Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi handed over Gandhi Peace Prize 2020 posthumously conferred to Sheikh Mujibur Rahman to Sheikh Rehana, younger daughter of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman accompanied by her sister Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

This award was conferred in recognition of his outstanding contributions towards social, economic and political transformation through non-violent and other Gandhian methods.

First President & later Prime Minister of Bangladesh, Sheikh Mujibur Rahman is called as ‘Father of the Nation’.

Exercise Desert Flag-VI hosted by the UAE Air Force:

  • The Indian Air Force participated for the first time in Exercise Desert Flag-VI along with air forces of United Arab Emirates, United States of America, France, Saudi Arabia, South Korea and Bahrain.

The exercise was held from 03 March 2021 to 27 March 2021 at Al-Dhafra airbase, UAE.

The Indian Air Force (IAF) participated with six Su-30 MKI, two C-17 and one IL-78 tanker aircraft.

Ex Desert Flag is an annual multi-national large force employment warfare exercise hosted by the United Arab Emirates Air Force.

Death:

  • BJP MP Nand Kumar Singh Chauhan passed away on 2 March 2021 in Delhi. He was MP from Madhya Pradesh’s Khandwa constituency. He was elected to Lok Sabha six times from Khandwa.
