Exercise Garuda Shakti 2025 was conducted from 03 to 12 December 2025 at Bakloh, Chamba, Himachal Pradesh.
- The 10th edition of the India– Indonesia Joint Special Forces Exercise GARUDA SHAKTI was conducted at the Special Forces Training School in Bakloh.
Objective:
The exercise aims to strengthen mutual understanding, cooperation and interoperability between the Special Forces of the two nations.
Participating Contingents:
The Indian contingent was represented by troops from THE PARACHUTE REGIMENT (Special Forces), while the Indonesian contingent comprised personnel from the Indonesian Special Forces.
Exercise Garuda Shakti 2025: Highlights
» The exercise involved troop-level tactics, techniques and procedures in a counter-terrorism environment, including unarmed combat techniques, combat shooting, sniping, heliborne operations and planning of drone, counter-UAS and loiter-munition strikes in semi-mountainous terrain.
- The training also involved exchange of expertise and information on weapons, equipment and operational practices.
- The joint training, designed to emphasize physical fitness, tactical drills, and high-intensity combat training, culminated with a validation exercise simulating real-world operational scenarios to test the endurance, coordination, and combat readiness of both contingents.
Significance:
- The exercise provided an opportunity for both contingents to strengthen their bond and share best practices.
- It was also a major step in advancing defence cooperation and strengthening bilateral ties between the two friendly nations.
