- LIC of India has launched a digital application “ANANDA”- Atmanirbhar Agents New Business Digital App. ANANDA will enable an agent to complete a policy even without physically meeting the customer.
National Newborn Week 2020:
- Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare Dr. Harsh Vardhan launched National Newborn Week 2020. It was observed from November 15 to November 21, 2020.
This year, theme of the National Newborn Week was “Quality, Equity, Dignity for every newborn at every health facility and everywhere”.
It aimed to reinforce the importance of newborn health as a key priority area of the health sector and to reiterate the commitment at the highest level.
Defence:
- The Indian Navy has inducted ‘hi-tech US naval drones’ for one year. A pair of MQ-9B Sea Guardian unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) have been leased from the United States‘ firm, General Atomics.
It has been inducted into flying operations on 21 November at Indian Navy base at INS Rajali.
This is to boost intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance capabilities, in the Ladakh & Indian Ocean Region (IOR). - The 30th edition of India-Thailand Coordinated Patrol (Indo-Thai CORPAT) between the Indian Navy and the Royal Thai Navy was conducted from 18 November to 20 November, 2020.
The 30th Indo-Thai CORPAT contributed towards Indian Navy’s efforts to consolidate interoperability and forge strong bonds of friendship with Royal Thai Navy.
International:
15th G20 Summit 2020:
- At the invitation of His Majesty King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi attended 15th G20 Leaders’ Summit 2020. The meeting was held in a virtual format from 21 November to 22 November, 2020.
The theme of the G20 Summit was “Realising the Opportunities of 21st Century for All”. 15th G20 Summit chaired by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. G20 Presidency will be held by Italy in 2021. It was decided that the G20 Presidency will be held by Indonesia in 2022, India in 2023 and Brazil in 2024.

- Film Federation of India announced on 25 November 2020, Malayalam film Jallikattu has been selected as India’s official entry for the International Feature Film category at the 93rd Academy Awards. Film Jallikattu has been directed by Lijo Jose Pellissery.
The Academy Awards is popularly known as the Oscars. The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences had earlier announced that the ‘Oscars 2021’ will be held on April 25, 2021.
