The India Biodiversity Awards 2021 were announced during the national level program on International Day for Biological Diversity 2021 i.e. on 22 May 2021, by Shri Babul Supriyo, Minister of State for Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Government of India.
Shaji N M also known as ‘Tuber Man’ of Kerala has been awarded the India Biodiversity Award 2021 in the individual category of ‘Conservation of domesticated species’.
Krishi Avam Paristhitiki Vikas Sansthan (KRAPAVIS) has won the India Biodiversity Awards 2021 under Sustainable Use of Biological Resources category.
Khonoma Nature Conservation & Tragopan Sanctuary (KNCTS) has also won the India Biodiversity Awards 2021 under Sustainable Use of Biological Resources category.

The India Biodiversity Awards is a joint initiative by the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, the National Biodiversity Authority, and the United Nations Development Programme.
India Biodiversity Awards are being given in different categories since 2012 in recognition of the significant contributions made by individuals/institutions for conservation of biological diversity.
The award includes Rs 2 lakh & 5 lakh cash prize for individual & institution respectively with citation.
