Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Award 2021

The Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) announced the Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Award 2021 for Science & Technology, during its 80th Foundation Day.

This award has been given to 11 scientists from across the country for their significant contributions to science and technology.

Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Award 2021 Winners:

Biological Sciences:

About SSB Award:
  • The award is named after the founder Director of the Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR) India, the late Dr (Sir) Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar and is known as the ‘Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar (SSB) Prize for Science and Technology’.
  • The award comprises a cash prize of Rs 5 lakh.
  • Every year, scientists under the age of forty-five are chosen for the Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Award.
  • Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Awards are given in the following Disciplines:
    (i) Biological Sciences, (ii) Chemical Sciences, (iii) Earth, Atmosphere, Ocean and Planetary Sciences, (iv) Engineering Sciences, (v) Mathematical Sciences, (vi) Medical Sciences and (vii) Physical Sciences
